Setting intentions for my tarot practice in 2024 ✨ Depth year, and creating my own deck(s)!

There is a concept - Go Deep, Not Wide. Deep was my word a few years ago and it was life changing. The concept is to use what is in your house already and not buy anything new. The decks you have, get to know them. The books you’ve already bought, read them. Get to know, use and appreciate what is already in your world. Usually my word comes to me right away but we are four days in and I still haven’t decided. I’ve tossed around Positive, Spiritual, Enlighten and Create. I might just do Deep again being mindful of all of those words. I hope you share your journey throughout the year!

I love this! I don't set "resolutions", but I do solidify some intentions and give myself some goals to work towards. It's more like a bucket list for the year, really. In 2023, I didn't buy any new decks, and I did 90% of my tarot work with The Shadowland Tarot. Now I've got two new decks coming in the mail, one of which is Terra Volatile with the guidebook. I'd love to work as closely with that in 2024 as I did with Shadowland in 2023. I'd also really love to spend some solid time working on learning Marseille. I'd also really like to set up a proper tarot journal, and just generally spend more time intently studying the tarot. I tend to hobby hop a lot, and so in 2023 the main focus was just to draw a card daily to keep me in touch with tarot as my interest in it waxed and waned throughout the year. It's hard to be away from something for months and then get back into it; I feel like I have to start all over again. So gentle, humble consistency was my goal, and I reached it. Now it's time to nudge it forward a little bit, to open the books a bit more, start to build up some notes, that kind of thing :)

I loved hearing your goals. Im not buying any decks this year. I have about 8 decks that i preordered last year and will be released this year. Plus, im also expecting several kick starter decks this year. I have a lot of decks that are either still in cellophane or are underused. I want to pay my attention to those decks this year. I'm a knitter, too, but I can not crochet to save my life. I have knitted stuff that look like they have been crocheted. I think being Lefthanded is the reason why I find crocheting a challenge ❤

Oh my gosh! I use a free pattern from Tarot Readings from a Bitch's blog for my crocheted pouches! Super simple pattern, and makes a pouch that unwraps into a little mat that's large enough for a 3 card spread. Can I leave a link to it here for you?

@@TarotMagpie No prob! Either search "tarot mat" or look at the archived posts from December 2017!. It's the same 3 stitches repeated so very easy to work on while watching/listening to something, since you don't have to do any counting.

I'm the opposite with crochet and knitting. I can crochet, but can't knit. I can knit a little bit, but it doesn't stick in my head like crochet does.🌟

I like these goals -- more creativity is definitely one of mine too (in writing and photography especially). ❤ The only thing I've found helps me maintain tarot consistency while travelling to see partners is selling partners on tarot being cool + getting them enthused about it. 😂
