I completely agree, they were too "boomey" for me as well. I was surprised coming from the AZ80s. It took some adjusting but they do sound very nice.

I've actually come to discover i like memory foam eartips. They're a lot more comfortable in my ears than silicone, hold better in my ears, and I enjoy the extra bass they add.

Same here, I’ve been using Compli foam tips on my Westone IEMs and prefer them to the silicon tips. I’ve got small ear canals so finding comfortable earbuds that are small enough to not cause discomfort has been a challenge.

@@Metal4ever246 I haven’t tried too many stem buds other than my daughter’s 1st gen wireless AirPods, or the older wired ones that used to come with iPhones. Most don’t stay in my ears so I’m holding out to see if the soon to be launched AirPod Pro 3s work for me.

Got them from Japan at a lower cost albeit a bit of a hassle with preorder. These are my favorite pair I've ever owned. Audio is better than B&W, Focal, Sony, Bose, Oneplus, Apple, Samsung, Anker, Soundpeats, Edifier, and any other brand's flagship, luxury or budget. B&O or B&W are the only ones I'd even say compete with the Technics. Clarity, soudstage, response-fade, "exciting balanced tune," and sound adjustability/customization were the top features for me.

From my point of view you are right about this. Compared to Over Ears like Hifiman Ananda the Technics sound a lot better and even nearly reach the Detail of my Vintage Stax Electrostats. Esp. with LDAC 990kbps and 24 bit (instead of 32 bit base Android setting) the technics sound superb.

I had the 80s and mow the 100s and they are True reference earbuds! I never use bass, treble or any equalising as the sound engineers spend ALOT of money at the point of recording to make music a good as they can and these reproduce sound so pure it's amazing. I listen to many genres and I've heard instruments on the 100s I've Never heard before on even wired over ear open backed headphones! That's pretty amazing for 10mm drivers! These are right up there how technics can better them will be very difficult. Ps the battery life is easily over 9 hours as I use them daily in my taxi. Cheers for the video

Also, wired IEM isn't better sounding than a true wireless IEM. All that matters is if the DAC and amp drives the speakers adequately and there is no distortion or noise added to the signal. This has already been achieved with the small components and DSP inside of true wireless IEM's. This can be confirmed with measurements from microphones that can hear far better than the human ear.
@mayursingh7232
@mayursingh7232 4 күн бұрын
Bro it doesn't matter when the connection drops out on TWS. So technically Wired are always better than true wireless. Though if we are only speaking of sound performance and tuning, opinions may differ.
@TheGamingAudiophile
@TheGamingAudiophile 4 күн бұрын
@ Connection stability issues on TWS has been a thing of the past for a long time now. If you come across a pair with issues, the manufacturer is simply incompetent and I would avoid their products.

@@TheGamingAudiophile Yes it is true but not quite par on a lot of standards, not necessarily every other earbud has drop outs or unstable connection but can the wired be question in that regard. Knowing that true wireless have come almost par on how wired IEMs sound but it still hasn't reached that quality yet. Although it is not concerning issue for mass consumers but us audiophiles it is a matter of concern. I am by no means disregarding the convenience of true wireless but I can't say that tws are better than wired stuff especially in terms of sound.

@mayursingh7232
@mayursingh7232 4 күн бұрын
@@TheGamingAudiophile I’m a bit skeptical here, my friend. Either you haven’t done thorough research and are just presenting half-baked theories, or I simply haven’t been updated on this yet.From my perspective, I don’t really care how these devices sound to a “system” because, as far as I know, they aren’t designed for that purpose, I mean we want are teh ones perceiving it not the measurement rigs. It is a factual truth that high-end wireless earbuds may outperform wired IEMs in noise reduction for calls and even music, thanks to active noise cancellation. However, the heavy reliance on DSP and AI processing often results in an unnatural sound. Another factual truth is that wired IEMs generally exhibit lower harmonic distortion, unlike wireless earbuds, which suffer from compression and interference. Even with high-bitrate codecs like LDAC and aptX Lossless, the transmission is still lossy-which may not matter much to those listening to 320kbps, 44.1kHz, 16-bit tracks. While lossy compression may sound similar, it can never sound better than the original. Regarding the drivers used in TWS earbuds, most manufacturers don’t prioritize high-quality drivers like those found in expensive wired IEMs. Many budget and mid-tier TWS models use drivers that cost less than $10, relying on DSP tuning to shape the sound in a way that appeals to the masses. That said, at the end of the day, sound is subjective, people prefer what they like based on their own listening preferences, not what measurements or systems dictate. So unless there are actual measurable facts proving otherwise, I’d suggest doing proper research before making claims. Feel free to use ChatGPT for that.

Bought em wanting the best experience ever and while I love them for many things - ANC is good, call good, fit and comfort good, app is nice, love the bass and treble, but there is something with lack of harmonics on electric guitar and voices, so it is somewhat layed back. Don't know what to think. All that being said, I absolutely LOVE them for edm music, pop, acoustic basically everything that don't have electric guitar haha

Went on an audio kick for tws-, the Technics AZ100, returned, too boomy and bad fit for me, YMMV. Also returned the BW PI8 , liked the sound but fit was not good. I kept the Denon PerlL Pro, B@O EX, and Audio Technica ATH TWX 9, all of which were workable for my difficult ear fitting. The Denon and B@O have the best sound quality for my personal preference, which, of course is subjective. AT TWX 9 are excellent as well---

It was good to see your video. I still don't understand why people use the theme "Very Good" for ANC if the primary noise you hear every day isn't being cut out, like people talking. That's not very good at all. In fact, it would just be considered " okay." It's easily the weakest feature of this earphone. For me it's sound quality is natural and realistic and again sound is subjective...didn't get anything overpowering or anything distorting at all on my pair. Details are amazing for music, asmr, podcast, audio books, and every genre of music I've ever listen to. Maybe your tuning of your ear is been set for others as to why you feel like it was not able to reach reference sounding.

Because ANC is simply not capable of properly filtering out (all) voices. That's a technological limitation. ANC works best for repetitive low-frequency sounds. Mid-range and high-frequency sounds, which simply covers most voices, can't currently be cancelled effectively. That's what the passive noise cancelling is for - i.e. having a good fit and the tips creating a good seal in your ear canal.

These are the most overrated earbuds out. I bought it into the hype, even though I have the Sennheiser momentum 4 truly wireless earbuds, and I got them this morning. I was so disappointed based on all the comments and all the hype. They are going back tomorrow. I already ordered the Cambridge melomaniaM100s which I have no doubt for $118 will sound 10 times better than these Technics AZ100. LDAC just doesn’t cut it …you need to have APTX adaptive and APTX at minimum in order to get tier sound quality. LDAC is the most common but by far APTX Adaptive outperforms LDAC every day of the week. My ear fun pro 3s sound better than the AZTechnics 100

Cambridge Melomania M100 they have a fantastic sound, weighted bass, clear mids and highs and never harsh or sibilant. As for ANC I don't care because I only use them on a PC to listen to music and watch movies. The volume is excellent. The App is simple and you can disable all the touch controls that I basically don't need. The ergonomics on my large middle ear are amazing. The basic sound signature is excellent, however you can use an EQ or use 5 different types of preset equalizers. Beyond the fact that the sound is subjective for me at 129 Euros they are the best buy to have.
