These are the 1st earbuds I can honestly compare to open ear overear headphones! I Never like touching any EQ/bass or treble and instead rely solely on the original recordings and leave the mode on Direct Sound, honestly if you use anything but the slightest bass+ on some recordings it spoils the sound in my opinion. These will be hard for Technics to better. Ps i use my AZ100s daily for 8 hours in my taxi in the UK and with 4 hours of 75% volume and 2 hours in transparency they still have 50% battery left! 5:19 I didn't know you could set the voice/notification sound volume. That's a huge plus. With my MTW3 I'm sometimes listening to music at very low volume in the evening, just to get bombarded by a low battery notification at max volume.

These were underwhelming for me in terms of sound. Out of the box, they were too warm and veiled. After EQ, they still have that smoothening effect which hurts the intelligibility of details and sharpness. Also, they distort the midrange a tad bit and you can verify this by listening to a song and switching between ANC and off repeatedly.

Can only speak for the 80s. They had this issue. Horrible for distorted guitars, great for everything else.

I saw that DHRME had highlighted the same issue with the az100. Is there a recommended EQ profile that we could see to try to correct those deficiencies?

@zehahaha603 kind of but then the vocals in general end up sounding odd and forced.. that's why I simply recommended reducing the bass and leaving the rest as is . For a vast majority of people this is a simple doable solution for better sound

There is no the best earbuds, you pay double the price of your "good one", you probably get less than 10% of improvement/benefit. I've got both AZ80 and MTW4, I leave the latter alone. You may buy it pricy, you won't buy it wrongly.

I don't like how some people make more Bass feels like a bad thing to have all in the name of making the Airpods to be perceived as the ideal sound tuning lol. I personally would love to have as much Bass emphasis as possibly could, especially sub Bass. A brand that enables more Bass mean they're confident of their products cause to have a good sound with quite amount of Bass requires some adept tuning. A mile Airpods are scared to go which explains why they're holding back and settling for a rather balanced sound. I have used a less than 30$ earbuds KZ Carol and a 40$ KZ Xtra i can for sure claim to sound better than any Airpods you can find and are pretty Bassy sets lol. But Bassy in the good way. You should them some time please.

I’ve had these for about 10 days now. Coming from AirPod Pros… I think Apple wins in every way except for sound. But I had to EQ the shit out of them to figure out where I like them, they weren’t amazing out of the box. I decided to keep them because they aren’t bad in any way, but ANC isn’t as good, comfort isn’t as good, mic isn’t as good, tap controls are annoying, they are a bigger pain in the ass to put in and take out, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make them connect to another device. But I am now absolutely in love with the sound so I can deal with the rest. Would recommend for sure but I think people should know they don’t win in any other category as far as I’m concerned

Anyone else experienced random less than a quarter seconds stutters/pops/hiccups when using the AZ100s with LDAC? The majority seems deniying this but more and more people started reporting it on headfi, reddit and youtube too.
