Heat protection gloves and safety goggles
The following tools are required for this process:
Cartridge pliers
Two open-end wrenches
3 mm Allen key
4 mm Allen key
Adhesive cartridge
Note: For a smooth process, we recommend using our BÜHNEN adhesive cartridges.
There should be an adhesive cartridge in the melt tank throughout the entire process.
Using the innovative fill level indicator on our HB 720 K, you can see how much adhesive is in the cartridge.
Remove the blue cover by loosening the screw with a 4mm Allen key.
Remove the black cover of the HB 720 K by loosening the two screws with a 3 mm Allen key.
Loosen the lock nut by holding the lower nut with a 10 mm open-end wrench and turning the upper nut anti-clockwise with a second 10 mm open-end wrench.
Adjust the contact pressure by holding the top end of the device with the blue cover from the melter and using a 10 mm open-end wrench to turn the bottom nut either clockwise or anti-clockwise depending on the cartridge length.
Turn clockwise for longer cartridges.
Turn anti-clockwise for shorter cartridges.
If you feel a slight resistance when turning the lid, you have set the correct contact pressure.
Then use an open-end wrench to tighten the top nut clockwise.
You should then ensure that the lock nut is tightened. This is done by holding the bottom nut with an open-end wrench and tightening the top nut clockwise with a second open-end wrench.
Finally, put all pieces back together.
Ensure that the spring sits neatly in the holder.
