I've got an '09 GSX650F which I've had for 4years. I knew about the trip meter. I knew there must have been a way to set the clock .. but I didn't know how. ..and as for the tacho .. well I always wondered what that white light was for. Thank you so much for enlightening me. Great video and very informative.

this might be a stupid question but do you have to switch the gauge cluster modes it see how hot the water temp gauge is at or some thing because I didn't see a water temp gauge well you were showing how to adjust the stuff on there or dose the 2008 GSX-650F for some stupid reason not have a water temp gauge

What's the red round light beside the fuel indicator. Should it be on while you're riding? What does it indicate?
@ghassanalfarra89352 жыл бұрын
Oil pressure, it should immediately go off after starting the engine, it should never be on while riding, because that indicates low oil pressure.

Hi CJ, I have a quick question about something that annoys me on my 650F. When you go across the modes you can see the res mode. in other vehicles this tells you how much fuel you have to go, on the bike though it appears to tell me how far i have gone since getting to the last bar of fuel, are you aware of any setting changes to make this mode useful at all?
@CJMPH7 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, what do you mean by the res mode? I'm not sure of anyway to change what the modes show/do. In terms of how much fuel you have to go, I just estimate using the fuel bar on the dash. Apparently the bike can do 150 miles with a full tank so its just a case of dividing up the bars to give a rough idea.
@danielcaddy31677 жыл бұрын
hey CJ thanks for replying (it must be super early in the morning) at 15 seconds of your video whilst going through the trip modes, you go past res trip. when you get low on fuel it has a useless feature of counting how many miles (or kilometers in my case) that you travel since hitting the last fuel bar. I was just wondering if this "res trip" could be used for anything useful, perhaps counting down until empty. also I tend to fill my bike up every 300 kilometers, i have actually have always been nervous to go past that but I always have plenty of fuel. have a great day and I hope you are appreciating your winter - an almost melted australian
@CJMPH7 жыл бұрын
It was around 9am when I replied last time :) not too bad lol. I'll take a look into that one, I don't think I've ever used the res trip really (probably because - like you said - its useless) You say that (appreciate winter) - I say hope you appreciate summer haha.... I think its just lose lose for motorcyclists lol - a somewhat chilly Brit

Love your videos but I have a question. You say that when the fuel gauge’s bars disappear, there’s 1.5 liters of fuel in the tank and it’ll go another 5 miles max. So you’re saying that the GSX650 has a fuel efficiency of ~ 3.33 miles per liter! That doesn’t sound right. Is there something else to it?
@FCS841683 жыл бұрын
That's totally wrong my 08 gsf650 has a fuel consumption of 5-5.5l/100km or or 18-20km/liter

honestly... with 5,5l in the tank i can go up to 80km (50miles) for sure... if i would drive slower i could go for more i swear
@CJMPH7 жыл бұрын
Yeah? I was going from what the manual said and just plying it safe :) I would hate to say you can do more than your bike will... mine is quite old and probably isn't as efficient as it once was
@iphil917 жыл бұрын
mime is from 2009, my consuption is around 5,7L/100km (when i drive "normally") back in the day when i ha the stock exhaust is was 5,5
@CJMPH7 жыл бұрын
Thats pretty good, I dont actually know what mine is... I might have to properly work it out sometime now that I'm riding the bike everyday :)
@chenks546 жыл бұрын
My GSX650f (2009 model) will average between 55 and 60 mpg - unless I'm thrashing it. Since a gallon is approx. 4 1/2 litres, there's more than a gallon of fuel left in the tank. Normal riding should therefore give you twice what he stated. Perhaps there's less than 5 1/2 litres left when only one bar is showing?
