Can you also record base while in NTRIP caster mode?

Great video! I had a quick question. Do you know of any way to pull the broadcasted data in real-time to a PC? I am using the DJI RTK Ground Station.

What type of radio do you have connected to your base? I tried this same set up, but with only my R12i on a fix height tripod and I was receiving Lat and Long information into the controller but I'm not sure if everything was correct. Any information would help. Thank you
@melphilbrook45036 ай бұрын
The radio that was connected was an Intuicom BridgeX. This can also be used to send RTCM corrections to a DJI supported drone. This device eliminates the requirement of standing next to the receiver since the corrections will now be pushed out to a static IP address.

Do you have to use Ellipsoidal height for the Base station or you can use Orthometric heights as well?
@cory966 Жыл бұрын
He says elliptical but im worried of it crashing into trees and getting lost in the forest. Going to do a field test to see which is better to use

Can you use local coordinates or are you limited to Lat, Long, HAE? Are the coordinates that are being recorded in the EXIF data for each photo, corrected coordinates or is this just to improve the telemetry stability?

Hi Daniel, any luck with question ? thanks

Use wgs84 (lat, long, height above ellipsoid) for the photo EXIF data, then change to local or state plane coordinates with the model processing software (Pix4d output coordinates). The Mavik 350 RTK does use the corrections for photo positions. I think some of the earlier DJI drones used RTK only for drone positioning.

It must be a global lattitude and longitude and Height above Ellipsoid

Tobias, thank you for the video -- *just one question.* When using a normal tablet (as opposed to the Matrice 300 remote) -- you're not allowed to connect to two networks concurrently. In other words, once you connect to the Trimble R12 WiFi, you will lose your Internet connectivity. How do you work around that; connecting to WiFi on the R12 and maintaining network connectivity over/above the R12 WiFi?
@theonline9 Жыл бұрын
I'm not clear here. Can the trimble base station connect to the drone by radio like the RTK base from DJI? The DJI RTK is very flimsy and takes rebooting to adjust the lat/long/ht from an established rover point.

@@chrismaurer5557 We're a survey company with multiple R10s and R12s, and just did a test run with an R10 in base mode with our M300 and I connected to it and flew just fine. Haven't processed the data yet, but at first glance it seems to work fine following this workflow.

@@brianjurgella6678 Thank you for reply My other research into this found that I can make it work, but only through the WiFi connection, which is not helpful for our situations. I was hoping that it would be able to receive the radio link that our rovers use
@d112cons10 ай бұрын
I believe the Trimble base need only communicate with the controller. I believe the drone need only collect its own data, the controller handles all the processing and corrections. If the question is "does the R10 have enough range to reach the drone" I don't believe it needs to.

Do you have to keep the controller near the base to use RTK on the drone? Or once you get it set up can you move to your location you're going to fly the drone at?
@EADYMTGC2 жыл бұрын
I believe you're limited to the range of the wifi connection from the Trimble Base to the DJI Controller - so 20m or so?
@sambarney51002 жыл бұрын
@Evan Dyson that's what I've found out too. It's very limiting... in a lot of surveys I will setup base and be half a mile to a mile away from base operating at multiple locations. This RTK function would be so much better if we could receive base information like our rovers... much more logical... right now we're testing our new Mavic 3E with setting up a secondary r10 base on-site, but by the time we get all of that going I could throw out 5 or so extra targets and be flying.... we need someone to figure out a way to get these controllers to speak to the base via radio just like rovers have been doing for decades... my company would literally pay for that option/program/part. If you've done this, someone, let me know.

This technique requires line of sight with the receiver since it's actually an ad-hoc wifi connection to the receiver. If you are required to move with your drone for line of sight. I'd recommend the blue device you hear me mention in the video which is an Intuicom BridgeX ethernet bridge. Which pushes the corrections over a static IP address
