Great video Don, your audio was fine today on 30C and appreciate the hint on the iPhone connection to be able to control the open spot while using the iPhones hotspot, couple of doubters today about the openspot but I haven't had a problem, just go to the forums and you get a quick response. 73, de Herb, KX4QV

This looks like what I need. I got hung up last night when my Open Spot 3 arrived and I read the manual. Big mistake there. The “DIRECT” configuration looks to be the trick.

Hi, Don. OS3 looks great for those who want a simpler setup. Any downsides? I heard it does not work with callsign routing / QuadNet smart groups.

Would you mind showing using the D74 with Openspot3 connecting to DMR / BrandMeister? We only have DMR in my area but I have the D74... so DSTAR only. That would be super cool. Great video, thank you! KM6YFK

I wanted to ask you a question concerning the placement of my OpenSpot3. I use the OS3 in my shack ONLY and always keep it plugged in. When it's not in use I keep it in NULL. It sits on a shelf in front of my MFJ auto tuner. I also have my HF radio in the shack as well as ladder line coming into the shack. My question is when I transmit on HF while in the shack, can RF damage the Open Spot3 in any way? I haven't yet gone on HF since receiving the OS3. I figured I would ask someone like yourself before I transmit. Any information concerning this question would be greatly appreciated. Be well.
