Dude the thing about taking a break helping you get better is so true. I've had lots of injuries so lots of time off the board, and the one thing I always find is that while I may lose certain tricks for a little bit, I also lose some of the bad habits I had. I could never tre until I broke my arm trying one. Watched lots of skating and tutorials for tres while healing up, and it's like all the awful foot positioning and incorrect timing etc, went away because I hadn't made those mistakes in so long, I'd just been watching people do it the correct way.

We set them up, wreck them, wash, rise and repeat. This is the way. I started learning downhill last year. Like snowboarding, it is hard to film. I built a full carbon fiber downhill board. It is gnarly.

Subconcious learning is absolutely a thing! I work as a programmer and basically everyone I know in programming knows what it's like to take a break from a difficult problem, only to immediately find the solution right after returning. That's also what I think shower thoughts and staircase arguments come from. It's just your subconcious figuring out the solution while your conciousness is focussed on something else.
