Immensely helpful, Kobie. Doesn't do away with the need to get one's own bearings and experience, but offers lots of pointers on where to start and what to expect. Ultimately we all get more out of our cameras when we invest the time and effort to actually learn them.

I noticed that AF-C type working depends a lot of subject as well as it's movement and environment. What I found is Type 1 is great on tracking big, even if erratic moving subjects like airplanes. I suppose IR part is helping somehow given how hot engines can be, on the other hand it can be mislead with some weird stuff like highly reflective surfaces or something with bright colors (like yellow landing lane signs for example). So while K-3/3 AF does work really well if it is set up properly, there is lots of experimentation to do and find out what is best for what situation. Also if you know what you will be shooting and you need different settings, you can preset your choices in S.Fn (User AF) and then just use third dial wheel to quickly toggle between certain presets (hold levels, AF-C/S, AF field) which also can help. Sadly you cannot add AF type to the mix :(

Great video Have you run into the problem of losing your LED screen while on p? Mode and SV mode in TaV mode. Cannot even see the menu when this happens. So I have to turn it on to live View. and then my menu will show up so I can reset the camera. To fix the problem.

Can't say I've encountered that one. Any time I've lost the screen, it's either 'press info button twice' or its been because of a blocked eye sensor (moisture on the eye sensor will cause it too).

Can you do some astrophotography test on various angle.

I would have to plan a trip for that to happen. I don't live that close to an area that won't be affected by lighting where I can stop the car and set up (unless its literally on the road). When the weather warms up enough I'll scout around though and go from there.

Thanks for the great videos Kobie. Can you explain what the difference between the solid red squares vs the outlined squares is? Also, any recommended settings for soccer vs track or maybe tennis?

You're very welcome! To answer your question, the solid red square(s) are your selected AF point(s) within the selected AF array area. The outlined squares are the remaining AF points the camera will use to 'expand' (track) if the subject moves away from your initial AF point (red square(s). For sports like soccer, I would use AF.C Ex-S or M, Type 2 or Type 3 with sensitivity 1-3 as it's more predictable movement. For tennis, I would use the above settings but change sensitivity between 3 and 5 depending on how close you are and how much the player stutter steps from side to side etc. Track and field, I would leave sensitivity at 1 since it would be a consistent easily predictable speed/movement.
