Damn, never thought I'd see such a fancy move in BJJ. Really cool that you experiment with original and traditional moves.

Thanks man! That is the idea exactly to just test out stuff from traditional martial arts and see how it can work!

I got swept with this technique once during sparring whilst doing a side-kick. I hit the ground soooo damn hard I had the wind knocked out of me and I literally couldn't get any breath in for a while. I've always had a huge respect/fear for this technique since then. The secret is definitely in the flow through of the leg - (ie sweeping right through the opponents legs with momentum - like a Thai roundhouse kick ), just as you did in your sparring video🙂👍

It is all about the timing and once they know to look out for it, it gets a bit harder but still possible.

Here, jump on my back please! Also, for a bjj competition how would this not be considered just a leg kick? If no other part of you is touching him, thats not a sweep or a trip, thats a strike.
@jamielovesmartialarts Жыл бұрын
That's right if you don't set it up someone could jump on your back. Strikes involve acceleration, and use impact to cause damage. This is a sweep it's moves at an even speed and is designed to knock the person down as opposed to damaging their leg.
