My Tiny Wagon

2 жыл бұрын

This video shows how I set up Misty for Camp. It was taken earlier this year, after I returned from our 6-week California road trip, at one of my favorite Camping Spots in Cinebar, WA. It has been a learning process, nobody taught me what to do, so I found a system that works for me. Whenever I fully set up Camp like in this video, I usually stay quite a while. Enjoy!

At 2:13…If that were my trailer, my heart would’ve SANK! My trailer is already heavier than yours…I would think anyway. If my trailer fell like that, my heart would sink. So glad you didn’t panic when your trailer did that.

Yeah I love Hummingbirds! It is strange, that I can move 200 miles or so, and I have Hummingbirds look for food right at the spot where it usually is! So I always set up the feeders.

Miss Stephanie, a tip that I noticed that you may want to consider, check your weight distribution in side your caravan ... keeping main weight over your axle (by your video, you looked a little tongue heavy) with that adjustment it makes for easier pulling for the truck and easier hook up and set up. Great set up ....Be kind to you and safe travels !

Tounge jack not working??? put a block under it and you get more lifting height to clear the ball. If that were mine I'd buy an electric, 3 bolts and one wire to the battery and no more cranking. Those jacks arent meant for lifting, they're only stabilizers so Misty doesn't rock when moving around. Electric jacks are cheap and easy to install, you need one for about 3000 pounds ( i do this for a living). Still love your videos.
@MyTinyWagon
@MyTinyWagon 2 жыл бұрын
I recently upgraded to the ones you use with a drill, I think they are 5,000 lbs
@ricksmith7631
@ricksmith7631 2 жыл бұрын
@@MyTinyWagon Those have the capacity but my main concern was using them to lift off the truck ball. The tounge jack should be the only thing used to lift off the ball and the other jacks for stabilizing only. All your front to back levelling is done with the tounge jack, side to side levelling is usually done by planking the tires and after levelling then the four corner jacks are added and only used enough to push up a little on the camper. ive seen stabilizer jacks that actually unwound after putting too much weight on them. Wheel chocks are very important and the first thing i put in place before doing anything. I still dont see why the tounge jack doesnt go high enough to get off the truck ball, they have a travel usually of about 16 inches- this is where a good 8 inch thick block becomes very useful to get extra lift height. Just dont want to see you hurt or damage anything
@mdanielle100
@mdanielle100 Жыл бұрын
Do the electric jacks get powered through the car battery?
@ricksmith7631
@ricksmith7631 Жыл бұрын
@@mdanielle100 if the camper has its own battery or is still plugged in, thats where the power for the jacks come from. if you plug the 7 way plug into the tow vehicle you can pull power from there also, assuming it was wired correctly. periodically you need to go and tweak your jacks, especially it the ground is soft and the jack foot sinks, but you arent plugged into your tow vehicle, thats where having an onboard battery comes into ply - or just being plugged into shore power will also do the job. Just dont ever try to lift the camper using the stabilizer jacks, they arent meant for it and most will either trip the overload cutout or will damage themselves in the process. With stabilizer jacks an 8 inch square piece of treated lumber under the jack foot helps supprt the load, alot of jack feet are maybe 6 inches square and cant support alot of the load placed on them without sinking into the ground unless the ground is rock hard.
