as an IM40g owner, i 100% agree that this is the best size tank for beginners and nano experts alike. InTank media baskets and the Tunze 9004 Skimmer are nice additions to the tank, as well as RFG nozzles on the return line.

That magnet cleaner is fantastic. Better than the other brands I've tried in getting even the harder algaes off and it can get into tight spots

What is a best light for the im 40g nuvo pro 2 ?? I was thinking the Kessil 360x?? Or the AI hd 16prime?

Best is always subjective, so it's hard to answer that question. The Prime 16 is a great option if you're going to be keeping LPS and softies in that tank. The A360X is great if you'll be keeping more of a mixed reef. If you're going SPS dominant, then you'll want something a bit more powerful such as the Radion XR30. Hopefully that helps put you on the right track in picking your lighting. If you still have questions, shoot us a message and we can chat more about your specific goals for the tank and budget.

I would love to hear your livestock recommendations on this tank. I have the older model of the same tank and even though it is listed as a 40 gallon by my calculation the display portion only holds about 24 Gallons.

My curiosity is would you stock this tank more like the 20 Gallon in that video because of the swimming area or more like the 40 Gallon because of the overall water volume? Can anyone tell me the empty weight of this aquarium? They do curbside delivery and I want to make sure I can move it to my apartment by myself before I put in the order. According to a calculation I made it should be 64.6 pounds. (29.3 kilogram).

I've heard that Torches dont always get along with Hammer/Frogspawn, any truth to this?

It seems as though some aquarists have good luck placing them next to each other, while others have nothing but problems. If you're going to place them near each other, just be sure to monitor and be prepared to move them if you see any signs of aggression.

Matthew has a few of these tanks that he's working on. Since it takes so much time to set up, film, and edit each tank type, there might be a bit of a gap between videos. Not to worry, we didn't forget about them and there will be more coming! 🙂
