You have to use the high watt versions that run on 6 pin only. The ones that was mentioned with the single pin will melt easily. I've used the 6 pin version for over 2 years with no problems. Just a suggestion for anyone looking for a solution. I tried posting the link but it wouldn't let me.

I use pico PSU on all my CPU rigs including high end AM4 CPUs and I have 0 issues. BUT I've swapped the original wiring to thicker 18AWG wire, and also reconfigured it, such that the 12V for CPU EPS dont go thru the PICO PSU, but separately, directly from the PCIE 6 pin. Then from the spare two pins from the EPS 8 pin I have two wires going just to the pico PSU which only consumes like 24W. This way I can run a CPU up to 250W without issues.

@@bigrob833 Wait so what I DIY is available as a product? Never seen it. Tho you dont need high watt pico PSU, as I wrote above I've measured my rig and it only takes 2A (24W) at the pico PSU itself. Pico PSU I buy are like $20 so basically one of the cheapest.

@@Arek_R. There is 1 specific PICO supply I trust 100%. It has 18g wiring on a 6pin PCIE connector that plugs straight into a Bitmain PSU. I run 8 rigs on 1 PSU. I've tried to reply with the product 3 times and it keeps removing my message. Guess they don't want people sharing things like that on here.

Hello RPM. I currently have no solution for the PowerSupply problem. However, I would manually change the CPU voltage in the BIOS. In my opinion, you can save a few watts this way. The waste heat is also lower and the hash rate may be a bit higher. I would also disable the Precision Overdrive. I can stably run my R7 3700X with manual values at 1,320V at 4400MHz. I'm not a perfect overclocker, but these values worked for me with Raptoreum, for example. Maybe someone from the community can contribute better values or experiences. I hope my comment is still helpful to you.

addendum: I have changed the bios setting of my gigabyte board again and this brings me to a stable core voltage of 1300 at 4400mhz. maybe 1294 or less will work - but I still have to test that. core boost off, c-state on, cool and quiet on, pbo of course disabled.

So with the question about powering multiple CPU’s off one power supply what you could either do is get a breakout board with multiple motherboard support or get a splitter that they make believe it or not that actually goes from one 16 pin to 2 16 pin

I think if you undervolt the boards 1st individually while running solo on the PSU... both cpu and ram plus set it up using the gpu for bios settings and HiveOS then boot it into HiveOS headless with no gpu attached... then repeat for the second motherboard combo. then you could plug both rigs into one PSU and run 2 safely using 24 pin and 8 pin cpu splitters

I been running 5950x on nicehash pool with randomxmonero algo using xmrig. Getting hash rate of 14 Kh/s. Settings are cpu Freq mult @ 36, cpu volt @ 1 v. Xmp off, fclk @ 1600. Using an old hyper tx3 evo cooler. Cpu Temp is 62°.

For multiple CPU rigs on 1 PSU, use a Bitmain APW3 power supply, then look up 300w PICO PSU. You will find ones that operate on 6pin and are super reliable. I have 24 CPU rigs and run all of them on those except for my EPYC rig. Also, make sure you are undervolting the CPU in the BIOS to increase efficiency and to lower CPU temps.

@@sinlol7 I've done well with it, but it's a long ROI depending on which coins you mine. Then again, CPU's did really well vs GPU's in the past bear market. I never went in the negative on CPU'S.

Im on PICO PSU shit, and i need to tell u, the PSU watts must be OVER (EXEDED) 25-50 % that the CPU watts (usually for a 65Watts CPU must have a 65W x2= 130W) that means 50% efficiency (and 50% exceeded) the minimum secure range needs 75% efficiency; (100% of PSU needed = ?) * (65 Watts CPU ) / (75%) resolve this equation 100% = X (unknown) 75% = 65 watts (replace with you CPU whatts) OR (just add two zeros "00" to your CPU whatts) and DIVIDE the number by 75 That is the MINIMUN WATTS you need (i put the same 3 times, different ways, cause i dont know how do you explain maths in inglish)

a little unconventional to use a server PSU for this, but since you have the ZSX with ATX support, yeah get the ATX 24 pin splitter as long as you can handle the EPS power connections from that board. the biggest issue I have with those dual ATX adapters is (and because I schedule my rigs), often the second system will power on, but wont actually be alive (like soft power on never activates) I've found as long as you have two of the same motherboard and both are set to power on after outage, its just fine, but mixing a gigabyte with an asrock causes lots of issues as far as OC, if you want efficiency, most of the time 3.6 or 3.7 GHz and 1v or .950v is ideal on Zen 2 for me. should cut your wall power to 84-85w tops on that CPU. most of my 3900Xs hit that metric at 25MH

CHECK the HEATPIPES position, The idea is get the hot at lowest poiny and (some heatpipes had liquid inside that evaporates, and go up trow the pipe) and disipates in the TOP part but these do a loop and the "rainwather cicle" inside the pipes , dosent works well any possition THEN: chek temp like this, and then ROTATE all the Motherboard 90° and check again maybe one possition WORKs BETTER

I think it is not worth to built single cpu rigs, only if you get it really cheap. But it is worth if you upgrade your GPU Rigs with bigger cpu like i do since 2016. In this way you push your efficiency a lot.

OK I watched it through. I wouldn't trust the server PSU CPU power cable to power 2x rigs. You're better off with a quality (EVGA) ATX PSU and get 24 pin and 8 pin CPU splitters. I found that the PSU end quality varies. I had a cheap chinese PSU melt the CPU splitter at the PSU side before. I now stick to EVGA. You also should get into the BIOS and undervolt the CPU starting at 0.95V and going up in small increments if you're unstable in the silicon lottery. Some of my CPUs run at 1v or even 1.05v. If you go above that expect the CPU power splitter to get warm. My rigs run at 115V which is obviously better than your 125V when you go to scale. Go and tune it! :) My BIOS checklist is.... CPU undervolted to 0.95v or more stable setting, memory XMP off, and restore power on power loss. Use one stick of RAM unless you're using memory dependant algos like RandomX and you'll cut a few watts off the power too.
