things you can do further 1. just use USB flash drive and run it on hiveOS 2. if you're not gpu mining on the rig, should enable VGA/GPU ignore setting in the Bios, reboot and run cpu rig without gpu to save more on power consumption

The finish line is always moving with mining - it is hard to get anything to work long term. The only way these things work is if you get a 10x on your bag from appreciation, because mining at current prices takes 3 years to ROI.

Great video! Always good info - havent cpu mined since I turned off my monero rigs couple yrs ago but will have to put my 5900 and 5950 to work now!! I did a quick search but curious if anyone can point me to a cpu hashrate guide that is current? Have a bunch of 5600Gs, 5700Gs and 11700k and 12700k - about 15-20 sitting around collecting dust and all with brand new motherboards I was going to sell but curious if its worth it to break those out after Im done with the 5900s.... is it reaching trying to find profit in those older cpus

i had bad luck with EVGA power supplies , i stick to HP server power sups for GPU and rog thor ('i'm a sucker for the wattage in front , what can i say i mine with CPU ) for motherboards

gigabyte bios is best. you can just type 36 enter for clock ratio. vcore is under advanced voltages, or amd CBS/PBS. you definitely want to enter that as the VDD is still on auto, and appx 20w higher than it could be at that hashrate. I recently did a stream tweaking a 3900X for mining if curious. turn off cool&quiet too. XMP (and Im controvercial in saying this) should not be on. set mem to 2400mhz 1.2V. saves power and loses next to no hashrate. if you are pushing for highest hashrate power be damned XMP does then matter. 4G decoding not necessary for CPU rig under 90c is fine for temp.

I was wondering if you can help me with my settings. I have the same b450 mobo with a ryzen 7 5800x but can't find what settings for it. It's listed to do 11k hash but mines running at 7k hash

no way in hell those will touch 11. that chip should do 8-8.6KH at about 95-100w wall. CPUs are too hard to help remotely on due to the huge number of bios layouts and wild silicon lottery. see my CPU live stream for basic settings @@DEMONFIT3R

he just run the pc open on table instead of in an pc case/tower. so he plugs all the keyboard/mouse/monitor in to the motherbord as normal.

For simplicity purposes id probably stick with nicehash... not that hive is difficult, but i just find nicehash easier/faster for me to get going... love the rig... not bad for a first one... look forward to seeing more! 60c shouldn't be a problem.. my r5 3600 has a top temp of 90c before it throttles or shuts down.

@@raghunathdesai1980 only solution I'm aware of is a better cooling set up like a wraith prism or aio liquid cooling... I used one from vetoo a while back but it died, so I'm back to a stock fan for now

If your gonna be building cpu rigs get yourself a non-powered card that way you don't have to attach cables that will be removed once rig is set up, This only applies to 3000 and 5000 series cpus as they don't have on board graphics. @@shakthivel5602 5000 series amd and 3000 series is fine and then can take card off to run headless so no display connected etc... if using a 7000, 8000 or 9000 series then no need for a gpu. Hope that helps

@@shakthivel5602 yeah as long as can get a display out so you can do all the settings in bios or ryzen master then once set you can remove or run with, if you set it up to remote in then you can access it from another computer as if you were on that rig, very easy when comes to changing settings or switch to another coin.

that's like more than 500 usd worth of equipment, making 1,5 usd a day, and when the hashrate will go up, you'll make even less than 1 usd a day.... also consider the space you need for each motherboard . gpu or asic mining still better

I bought a bunch of $10 dollar old gpus that dont take external power cable to plug into my cpu mining rigs so you dont need the extra cables and dont need to remove it and you can always plug a monitor into it if needed

They are about the same performance. Memory would make more of a difference versus 3900x or 5900x

132WATTS your nuts 😂 and it's under clocked....take your volts off auto and set it to 1 maybe 1.065 volts and put your clock to 3900 you should get 13500h at 110w
