Hello Cliff and Diane. Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate the workings of the tape machine. I was under the impression that the tape was adhesive. It wasn't until recently did I see in your videos, that yours uses staples. This explains everything perfectly. Thank you. Elaine 🌱

Our pleasure Elaine pleased to have helped. They do put a little bit of sticky glue, on the beginning of the tape to hold in place. Enjoy your taping regards from us both.

HI Cliff and Diane ~ this is a great video on tools. I tie up everything with soft twine but after 120 tomato plants...that taping machine look very impressive! I do have a shredder also, quite like yours and I may go out and take it apart and sharpen the blade, and I've never heard of a diamond square either...Amazon here I come! So happy to see you looking so happy and relaxed. Happy also to know it's almost September, we need cooler days. Take good care of each other!

Thanks for sharing this video on sharpening the shredder blade Cliff, will be doing mine this weekend, and I will be looking at the tape machines as it looks a lot easier than trying to tie jute string that quite curly sometimes and can be a pain to tie and sometimes breaking stems etc !👍👍… have a great week, keep safe and look forward to the next video! Ps one gadget I use ,not sure of the name but you can type labels for your plants that you can then remove the backing and stick to plant labels and they don’t fade in the sunlight and can be used for years if you grow the same each year!

Thanks eadjh.. yes I find the tying difficult theses days, the tape machine is very useful for me. Diane has a label printer in our cottage, will have to look out for a waterproof one regards Cliff.

Great Video Cliff, I bought a tape machine on Amazon recently that looks the same as yours. I have lost one cutter blade due to it falling out somewhere and never found. I put in the replacement blade as you show in the video and it has fallen out also. Luckily we found it but I am concerned about putting it in and coming out again. What suggestion do you have for holding it in better? What is the hole in the blade for? Thanks so much
@CastleHillGarden3 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, I looked at mine today there is a hole in the blade that doesn't seem to do anything, It could be a multi use blade. What I would suggest when loading the blade is to put with it, a piece of thin flexi plant label It must be the thin type. Mine held for three seasons with a bit of label in. Put the blade in bevel side up, good luck regards Cliff.
