Hi Matt, nothing like buying a new toy for tne workshop, great going, I pickec up a Makita random orbital sander the other day, I hope you are keeping safe and well in this crazy world, all the Very Besg Wishes for Chri6and the New Year.

They all look the same these Sanders but seeing yours assembled makes me realise they aren't all the same. Yours is better than mine. Mine has a plastic tray on the under side of the main belt that I caught fire too on the first day I had it. You live and learn I guess. Thanks for the vid.

Hi Matt. Very impressive small compact machine, you'll love working it finishing your flat and internal or external curved surfaces. Well built and and powerful for it's size as you have shown, it will save you loads of time. UK parts back up as well. Nice one Matt.

I'm only 1:18 into the video and thinking to myself that we will soon be seeing a "Make a mobile base for the Clarke Belt and disc sander" video very soon.
@SirBenJamin_4 жыл бұрын
I always think these machines make more sense with the belt up vertical. That way you have much more surface area than with the disc, easy to change belts, and it's a consistant speed. Where as the discs will always sand faster at the edge than towards the center and is a pain to change the disc. I think a better design would be to do away with the disc and have 9" vertical belt. It wouldn't be any larger would do a better job.

We had one of those at work and the one frustration was the lack of the option of a second table as 1 workflow used the disk and another used the belt with only a few minutes inbetween. Needless to say we made our own table but it would have been nice to have the option for 2 tables.

Cool, looks like you were on your own Secret Santa list! Btw the grub screws for the table/platform that are not being used on the belt side... make sure they're either tighened or removed, vibration migh shake them loose.

You couldn't stall it??? Nice! Far far better than my Record Power 150 combo machine - rather like yours. It stalls with anything heavier than a fly after a heavy Christmas lunch.

Hi Matt another good clear video , I have a smaller version and would recomend a rubber block to clean the sand paper well worth the money ,works fast and extends the life of sand paper , you've probly been asked before but where did you get the cone shaped hose ends on your vacum hose , thanks ,G.

Interesting, doesnt seem too loud. I presume 48" is the total belt length as it goes all the way around, could you let me know what the max length of belt working area is? I cant see that being mentioned on their website. Thank you

So, it's been a few months now... Do you find you like the machine still and do you use it as much? I'm in the market for one of these and I'm curious if I might just be having a spending urge or if it's actually a machine that's useful in a shop. I'm sure it's useful but to what extent I guess is what I'm asking. Thanks.

I still chuckle about how my wife told me I could buy as many tools as I wanted as long as they had my name on and I showed her the Machine Mart catalogue. Correction: ex-wife.
