i had the airbrush pen for a few days now and i couldn't make good use of the scroll wheel. wacom's website has nothing about it on there. this video really helped. thanks jason!

Thanks for posting this! Thus far it is the only video I've found explaining how to use the airbrush tool...really helpful. One thing to add: hardness must be set to near zero for best results (a clean hard edge is possible to paint within a selection created with the lasso tool). Also experimenting with Color Dynamics Foreground/Background Jitter set to Stylus Wheel for quick greyscale adjustments. Thanks again! My Airbrush sat around unused for a year before this video!!!! : )) Thanks!!

Awesome video. Exactly the info I was searching for. Wacom should sell thousands more after seeing your vid.

FWIW I had an Intuos2 airbrush some years back - so in reference to your comment at 2:43 you can take pride that they were pimping these beauties at least that much earlier. As an acrylic airbrush artist myself I felt like I met my lifelong friend when Wacom came out with that thing. Now, if only they can come up with one that lets me take it several inches above the level of the tablet surface. ;)

I just got a wacom airbrush pen today (my birthday!) I've set it up to use in PhotoShop, but I wondered how you do the same in Corel PaintShop Pro (X2 or X8) (I only have an Intuos 3 tablet so no fancy finger work to enlarge the brush size on the fly like you do) Do you know how to set it up for Corel PaintShop Pro?

I just received the Airbrush a few days ago, but I am kind of upset that it seems to act just like a pen. Then I ran across this feed and thought looks like I was setup the wrong way. So took your instructions to heart. Funny part I dont have other dynamics in the list. Is this a feature that I failed to turn on? Or do I have to tell the app to recognize that there is an airbrush?...Anyone willing to share info on this because I lost. Pitfalls of being a photographer and not an artist. :)

I've just tried using my airbrush, but it doesn't seem to be doing a damn thing-why is that? It was working when I bought it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This pen never needed to exist to begin with. You could simply control the airbrush with the rocker buttons on the regular pen instead of a scroll wheel, if the software just allowed it. Wacom should've went a step further and incorporated proximity sensing into the airbrush pen. That would allow you to use it more like a real airbrush, changing the paint spread depending on the distance from the drawing surface. This pen and video is old, but if they were to update it to a new model they ought to do what I mentioned.

The clip stops at one minute, doesnt go on. It resets every time.
