One of the things this video left out was the SUP setting for push-pull guns. This setting is what synchronizes the motor in the welder and the motor in the gun itself. at 2:00 you can see the SUP value of 147 listed on the hard plastic of the gun when he inserts the "brass power pin." To get to the SUP setting on the machine you have to press both the "setup" and "arc control" buttons at once (this usually takes me a few tries) this brings up a menu that tells you how many times the machine has struck an arc, how many hours it has been used, and whether or not you want to activate the hot start and crater fill settings in the timer menu, but most importantly the SUP value which must match the gun. To my knowledge every gun has a unique value, for example the alumapro gun that I use is 120. The factory setting is 130, which Miller claims will work if the gun does not have a given SUP value. If your machine doesn't seem to work as well as you think it should, it is worth checking this out. The machine I use was having a lot of problems burning wire back to the tip whenever an arc was struck, regardless of how far away I held the tip from the work piece, after setting the SUP value that issue is virtually non-existent.

Jeremy Booth awesome info. I have been having issues with some of our xmt 350 MPa/s-74 feeders. I will see if this helps

On my AlumaPro feeder I have the 25' AlumaPro gun on it, I just read your tip on there. I looked and I don't have a dedicated button for arc control, I went into setup and see there is a gun calbration setting, which I remember doing, and did it again. I think that must be the same thing? First time I noticed on my gun, it does in fact say the SUP value is 111. Interesting. Thanks. I've had this stuff since 2015, mostly no issues.

I'd love to be able to hook up a push pull gun to my everlast. I usually use a spool gun for aluminum work.

We always used to cut the wire at a 45 degree angle smooth it off with sandpaper and then feed it I did this for 20 years welding aluminium with the Hobart linear to which is the only true pulling gun ever made

How do I change the liner?? I losened the lock and it still won’t pull out? What am I doing wrong??

How do you take the whole stinger apart

can you use the aluma pro gun to feed er70s6 as well??
@MillerWelders8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question, Bill. Yes, you can use steel wire. Since aluminum wire is so soft and difficult to push, push/pull guns are typically used to feed aluminum wire. However, they can be used for all types of wires if the wire needs to be fed over 15 ft.

Does this also adjust the amperage when you adjust the wire speed?
@MillerWelders5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for reaching out. We are checking with our team and will get back to you.

Hi Noah, yes the amperage changes based on wire feed speed.
