I tried to show a complete install on a virgin phone. Most of the videos I've seen left out too much for me to do it without research so I made my own. Included are some special pids needed for the Powerstroke.

The fact that most problems that I have researched and videos that I have watched, have mentioned the knowledge that this man took so much time out of his life just to help others on how to diagnose, and repair these diesels is amazing. It is the simple fact that people like him make owning these diesels possible without breaking the bank. Manufacturers these days want you to spend your hard earned money on these common problems that should actually be recalls. People all over the united states have been educated and have noted that they learned something from Ron. It is sad and as I have written this post I have welled up with tears because he is in heaven now. This world we live in needs more people like Ron. He is gone but in a better place, and he's still to this day teaching people. I wish I could have been a friend or even met this down to earth gentleman. RIP Ron, you're truly truly missed by so many, and my heart goes out to his family because they were so blessed to have him in there lives. God bless you Ron and the family.

Phillip you're exactly right! When I found Ron's channel I was excited beyond words. I had only watched maybe three of his videos only to find out that he was killed only two days prior, my excitement turned to tears and I didn't even know of him. I've been watching and learning and he has educated me on diesel mechanics in so many ways, I'm forever grateful and thankful. To Ron's family, Thank you for leaving up his videos and Thank you for sharing such a wonderful man with us, God Bless you all ❤

I have been watching your videos because I am learning so much from you on working on my 2006 Ford F350 Lariat 6.0L Diesel. I downloaded the Torque Pro app and just finished watching this tutorial video. You explain it in detail and I really appreciate you taking the time for making the videos. Hats off to the person for filming you (I assume it is your wife-of course her and the kids get 95% of the profits!). Thank you so much, it is greatly appreciated.

This is best presentation I have ever come across. I have had Torque Pro for 3 years. Thank you. I have '08 Equinox 3.4L 6 cyl. I tow a small pup camber with it, about 2900 lbs, this Equinox's limit for towing is 3000 lbs (with electric brakes on camper). So I am close to the limit and worry what may happen to the transmission, so I monitor the transmission's temperature sensor when towing. Recently I messed up something in the app and wasn't getting the temperature readings correctly. Now it's fixed. Your video clarifies everything for me, again. Thank you.

I 2nd your thoughts @Truck Farm. Deepest condolences to Ron’s family. I am struggling to get my adapter talking to my ‘02 7.3L. If I plug in Blue WiFi super OBS (mini) adapter into modern car everything is working, so I’m sure it has to do with tweaking the settings for an ‘02 7.3L. TF what protocol/settings are you using?

If your looking to do buzz tests or cylinder tests download the Forscan app located in the Google Play Store it's a Ford specific app designed to run tests among other things. It's not free but the app is worth the cheap price for the benefits of the app.

Great Video THANKS! We have a crank no start condition on a 2003 HPOP has been replaced once The ICP was replaced when the turbo was replaced a few months ago This started out as a Hot no start then got worse to a no start at all Air tested the oil system with no leaks We did find a hole in the IPR screen, cleaned IPR and replaced screen, then air tested it. Opening and closing with the OTC IPR tool Cranking we have the following FICM=52.0Volts (Aftermarket) FICM Sync=1 ICP Voltage = .5 IRP=83.5% HPOP=221PSI
@DieselTechRon8 жыл бұрын
How high is the icp building? did you air leak it? Did you make sure the ipr valve is seating
@quadragin8 жыл бұрын
+DieselTechRon ICP gets up to 0.5 Volts Cranking Air tested the oil system with the IPR Air fitting tool with no leaks We did find a hole in the IPR screen, cleaned IPR and replaced screen, then air tested it. Opening and closing with the OTC IPR control tool, it seemed to open and close just fine. We did get her started just now with Brake Clean and a new battery The new battery got our HPOP pressure up to 350psi once we shot the brake clean in she fired up while running HPOP=811psi IPR=32.1% ICP=1.1 Volts bumping the throttle the HPOP would climb up to 1200psi then fall as expected But the most she will make on the HPOP is 350+psi while cranking. I'm an Instrument and Controls technician so I have a question about the IPR QUESTION; Does the computer control and monitor the position of the IPR to display the % closed, or just send a voltage value to the solenoid to open or close the valve based on the voltage sent? Could the % be a false value? Meaning the computer thinks the IPR is 84% when really its hung up and not truly closing? Hoping this is not a bad HPOP, as we know it was replaced at some point in its life prior to us purchasing the truck, the former owner did the head studs, HPOP and aftermarket EGR cooler. We have replaced the FICM (Bullet Proof 52Volt), Garret Powermax Turbo, ICP sensor, and IPR screen twice Thanks for your advice

Sounds like a faulty Cam Position Sensor(CPS) does your tachometer move when cranking? Always carry a spare CPS in your glovebox with a ratchet, 10mm socket and short extension sensor's typically under $30 only buy Ford Motorcraft sensors never knock off junk from auto part stores. It's a 10 minute sensor change laying down under the truck.

curious if the app is updatable for feature vehicle specific code. The old styles used special circuit board keys you slide into the slots of the odb2 scan tool as well as cartilages now. The new ones must have a way to upgrade them thru an upgrade of apps or something ( i am guessing or are they going to be throw away after a certain period of time in future) . My other curiosity is if they have ELM327 bidirectional read/writters/flashers...like you can actually open vents , turn on compressors , turn on fans ,...etc as well as flash new wireless key codes to BCM , change engine performance values etc... :)
@cook40153 жыл бұрын
The app software is used to monitor stuff not do custom modifications per vehicle. You can do injector buzz tests and cylinder tests with the Forscan app it's a Ford specific app available in the Google Play Store.

Does the Dash Boss read fuel pressure and egt's with the kit when used with a 7.3 powerstroke? I have read they aren't compatible with the older trucks with regards to egt and fuel pressure.
@cook40153 жыл бұрын
7.3 Powerstroke Diesel's don't have factory fuel pressure sensors or EGT probes. You'll need to buy gauges to monitor them. Glowshift gauges are decent quality for the price and work well for me. There's better more expensive gauges on the market available.

Hey Ron I have a question for you sir. I have 2003 a Ford F250 Super Duty 6.0 that has been having some issues of late. I get a good 15-1HR drive out of her when suddenly she starts loosing power and speed. It gets to the point where the whole truck starts to shake and finally gives out. After about 15Mins she'll turn right back on and do the same thing over again. I watched your videos about the Fuel Restriction that could be happening in the Fuel tank. I removed the Fuel Pump and no filter at the end! After a quick swim in the tank I pulled the filter out in pieces and headed over to Ford and purchased a new one. Now everything has been put back on and she starts up Beautifully but agian I get about 15-30Mins of solid power. My question is: Will this fix itself after a couple of runs or should I start looking elsewhere for the issue? Now this whole stopping and starting has been going on for a little over 1 year who knows how long the filter has been broken.... Thank you for your time! :)
@keayrhyasen30717 жыл бұрын
this sounds like a clogged fuel filter. happened to me with a brand new '97 Freightliner. fought it going across country until i put .25 cents of diesel in a new filter and swapped it out with the factory one. ran fine after that. the only other thing is there is something else floating around in your fuel tank that you didn't see. something that will get sucked down and block the inlets and when the truck shuts off and the siphon releases, it floats back up and away. THAT was another frustrating experience i had at a different job. Note to Mechanics: when you toss dye tablets into the tanks, please remove the plastic wrapping first. otherwise, they just float around inside the fuel cell.... grrr

Having much the same problems as Milton is having. The Ford Dealer would only tell me that the #8 injector coded as the problem, after reading Miltons fuel filter problem wondering how common it is for the filter to deteriorate and cause injector problems, or if I have an injector problem at all.
@cook40153 жыл бұрын
Fuel filters don't just deteriorate. Change them once a year or every 15k only use Ford Motorcraft specific ones. As for the injectors if you download the Forscan app from the Google Play Store you can do injector buzz tests, cylinder tests among other stuff. The Forscan app is a Ford specific app while it's not free the apps benefits are worth the price I think it's around $5 I don't recall though.
