Devvon would you recommend using 2 preamps bridge together 1 using 48v phantom power for the mic and the other amplifier in line mode no phantom power to get a good quality sound just curious.

Proximity effect can also be determined on what type of mic you use,certain words etc and room treatment...was very frustrating for me on a song i was recorded which certain words had alot of proximity from my low end.... Do you believe recording with compression is optimal? For instance, I am going Mic > Avalon 737 (compression) -> interface .. I use light compression on the Avalon, I am just curious since I have mixed feelings about it. A lot of my peers recommend it, some don't.
