Great job, Tom. I do a lot of POTA and I'm always looking for best reception settings for handling pileups when hunters are all transmitting at once. The attenuator would eliminate the weakest signals for sure (although I do want to hear QRP hunters) but any other suggestions?

Find a way to spread out your callers. Call call by call area on the callers ticket. Call for stations beginning with “A” then “K”. When you complete US, call for DX. If need to, operate split. Just a few ideas.

Hi, Tom, I loved your videos of the 991A. I heard you say that you had problems with the computer, that is happening to me when I stop using the MRP40 in CW and I go to LSB or USB when I press the microphone to speak, the computer turns off, that happened to you

The problem ended up being with my computer. Called HP friends tech support and they identified a problem with my Windows 11 upgrade - it had corrupted some of my drivers. A quick fix and everything was fine. Haven't had a problem since. 73 de Tom, ND3N

Yes it can, but it is not type certified by the FCC, and by most other countries that are signatories to the ITU regs, and they can confiscate it if you are caught using it on CB …. I wouldn’t recommend it…
