Although I agree... Dominion would have to go to court, prove this to a Jury and Fox news was willing to settle for the damages and admit they lied about Dominion. A ton of things would have came out in court relating to Fox and I'm sure they didn't want that stuff to come out. On the other hand, it would cost tons of money for Dominion to keep going to court and then they are not assured how much money they get. They knew they were going to get a settlement, so they just took the money.

Conflating money from a lawsuit with real accountability is symbolic of what’s plagued Americans for so long: class division. Money should not have power over the truth, and yet it does; and the head lawyer representing a company predicated on the concept of free and fair elections just echoed that sentiment. I’m glad dominion saw success, I’m glad we saw some more evidence to FOX’s corruption, but the broader problem is at large. Let us not mistake this event for justice, it is far from it.

No, the judge ruled that Fox was not ALLOWED to beat them. Fox was not allowed to call any experts to testify whether Dominion's voting machines were accurate. The judge simply ruled that everybody must simply ASSUME that the voting machines are always accurate. That hardly seems like a fair trial to me.

If you settle, do you get out of paying the other guy's legal fees? I think so(it just gets lumped into the price of the settlement I guess). I wonder if they could have got off cheaper, though, if they settled before going to trial? I mean there would be less legal fees for both sides, you would imagine that would result in a smaller payout. Why didn't they do that? It couldn't be because they wanted to defend their position, they folded the first day. Did they WANT TO PAY MORE? Maybe the amount had some significance, as if it needed to be a certain number.
