If they reached a private settlement agreement, then there is no chance that the terms of the agreement will include Fox News making a public apology or admitting guilt. This entire case will get swept under the rug and silently fade away as if Fox News did nothing wrong. In my experience as a Civil Rights Investigator, I have learned that Private Settlements are used by wealthy criminals to avoid accountability. Most discrimination cases in which there is enough evidence to find wrongdoing end up getting resolved as Private Settlements or Consent Decrees. No admission of guilt is always part of the Respondent's settlement terms even though they did in fact break the law. This defamation case is being handled the same way as a discrimination case. Donald Trump used the same method for avoiding admission of guilt when the Trump Organization discriminated against Black Residents in the 1970s. The criminal justice system is corrupt and favors the rich.

nah don't be fooled, when they made those laws they knew exactly who they could protect, while selling it to the rest of us as a fair law. NDAs and NCAs were never really about protecting a companies IP/processes - it was about protecting a companies misdeeds, safety violations, labour violations, and other illegal activity from getting out. Dominion taking a lot of heat for settling. Certainly it's disappointing as hell, for many. But one key thing that likely factored into Dominion's decision to settle, as stated by many Legal pundits, is that even if the trial had gone Dominion's way there would have been appeals which would have resulted in at least a 3-4 year delay in Dominion actually getting their pay day and there's no guarantee that they would have received the full 1.6B. Of course, for all of us anticipating having the Fox Corp/Fox News executives and "talking heads", being on the witness stand, under oath, under the spotlight, this settlement is an extreme let down. Next up: the likely Smartmatic Lawsuit settlement, plus Dominon's Lawsuits against individuals like Sidney Powell and her "ilk".

First off....this settlement does not mean Fox is guilty. The path to determine that has been forgone. Dominion chose to take a settlement less than half of what they were suing for, which could also be interpreted that Dominion did not have the certainty of a conviction. The hosts that they were considering putting on the stand, Tucker, Hannity, etc., all have talk "opinion" shows. They are not news any more than Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, Joy Reid etc. who also spew nothing but opinion twisted to promote their agendas. None of it is "news".

If they reached a private settlement agreement, then there is no chance that the terms of the agreement will include Fox News making a public apology or admitting guilt. This entire case will get swept under the rug and silently fade away as if Fox News did nothing wrong. In my experience as a Civil Rights Investigator, I have learned that Private Settlements are used by wealthy criminals to avoid accountability. Most discrimination cases in which there is enough evidence to find wrongdoing end up getting resolved as Private Settlements or Consent Decrees. No admission of guilt is always part of the Respondent's settlement terms even though they did in fact break the law. This defamation case is being handled the same way as a discrimination case. Donald Trump used the same method for avoiding admission of guilt when the Trump Organization discriminated against Black Residents in the 1970s. The criminal justice system is corrupt and favors the rich.
