Is anyone with WiFi 6 devices going to get any improvement though. Most of my devices are 6. I have a RT-AX89X router.

No sorry, you can Bind one of the following functions to your LED Key: LED On/OFF, DFS Channel or Aura RGB.

I just got the GT be-98 asus router , connected it directly to the BT fibre pon port to the wan 10gb port on the router and it will connect to the Internet but I can't get the Internet to connect on any device ethernet or WiFi connections. Nothing will connect to my fibre internet connection through this router. Any thoughts?
@EclipseReviews16 күн бұрын
Make sure its the 10G WAN port, also under the PPPoE details you have inputted your user name & password that BT have given to you.

What’s people’s WIFI 7 speed on the router. I installed an Intel be200 card yesterday and on 6GHZ @ 320MHZ I am lucky to reach 1100-1200 down/up. I thought would have at least got 2gb down/up on my 2.3gb broadband

When you say a little white box with fibre going into it for the PPOE connection do you mean coaxial ? Or a actual fibre optic cable ? I have fibre to the premises not fibre to the house. FTTP. That means the box outside my house is feeding a copper coaxial cable to my modem. Those people that have fibre to the house must be very lucky people. Because it's fibre from the Big green box under the street and paths is actual fibre optic cables to your house box and to your modem aswell. In my case, the big green box on the street is the one where fibre optics cables connect under the roads and paths. But from the Big green box is copper coaxial cable to the house box and to my modem.

FTTP and FTTH are the same. This is where you have the fibre coming into your property and it will terminate at the ONT. FTTC is Fibre to the Cabinet. FTTC will have the fibre running as far as the green box on the street. From there, 'the last mile', as it's known, is copper. FTTC uses standard copper telephone wiring. If you have a copper coax coming into your property that plugs into a modem/router, then you likely have Virgin Media as your ISP (If you are located in the UK). They use a system called DOCSIS (Cable) and it essentially carries broadband over the same cables that your aerial would use.

@dubya858 ай бұрын
yes you can use either a 2.5 or 10gb port (it has two options for wan connection)

If you get this do you replace your modem from internet company or do you connect it to this router?
@EclipseReviews5 ай бұрын
This will depend on your internet company. As with my old ISP Vodafone (cityfirbe) I had to keep there modem. But with the new company I can replace the ISP modem. Hopefully you can just replace your ISP modem.

@@EclipseReviews ohh thank you. And is it also better when you connect the Ethernet cable like on ps5 or pc. Does it work faster or is it just faster on WiFi

what if the pppoe connection requires a vlan id?
@EclipseReviews6 ай бұрын
Hi, you would need to go to the setting > LAN > IPTV >. select 'Manual Setting' from Select ISP Profile dropdown. Then enter the VLAN number in the VID box beside Internet.

I'm interested in the internal ookla speedtest on the router itself. I have the AX11000 Pro with a 10Gbps fibre plan but the internal speedtest on the router only gets around 3Gbps. Read that it is due to the processor performance that cannot handle the full 10Gbps speed, wondering if the better processor in the BE98 can do a better job...

How does it compare to ASUS AXE16000 is worth the upgrade GT-BE98 ?
@EclipseReviews9 ай бұрын
It is currently not worth the upgrade unless you are lucky and have lots of WiFi 7 devices to take advantage of the extra bandwidth. ASUS AXE16000 is best overall router

I can’t make up my mind between Rapture GT6 and Netduma R3
@EclipseReviews10 ай бұрын
The ASUS Rapture GT6 and Netduma R3 are both high-performance routers aimed at gamers. I like the DumaOS interface definitely has potential and would like to test. In my personal opinion it depends on what you want: 1) If you want the absolute fastest Wi-Fi and raw power: ASUS Rapture GT6 is a better fit for Mesh environments. 2) If you want granular control over gaming traffic, and ease of use is important: The Netduma R3's DumaOS is likely the ideal choice. 3) If you want a powerful all-rounder for gaming and general network needs: The ASUS Rapture GT6 offers more flexibility and room to grow.

Thank you! Here's my planned upgrade, and I'd really love to hear your thoughts, Router: Upgrading from the Mercusys MR70X 1800 to the ASUS Rapture GT6 AX10000 (1 Pack) for: - Wi-Fi 6 coverage - Gaming features - Improved security - Simplified port forwarding setup - Capacity for handling multiple devices on the same network Modem: Switching from the ISP provided Huawei HG633 to the DrayTek Vigor 167, set in bridge mode, for my VDSL2 connection. Access Point: Considering adding a Netduma R3 for its software advantages and control options. Also take it with me as I’m working abroad.

I hate that they named Wi-Fi 7 as "BE", because "AX" sounds more powerful, BE is a boring name
@jordangaming797426 күн бұрын
it’s because of the IEE 802.11 naming category, and “BE” stands for WiFi 7 in that category
