Looks like a heavy duty version - which you need for sure given all the cutting you do. Congrats my friend and glad to see your upgrades!

Yes, the new saw is really much steadier. Then there are a lot of small details that have been improved. Among other things, they have increased the distance between the saw beam and the log so that the saw does not get stuckt so easily when a twig protrudes a little

Hi! This was really useful, so thanks for sharing. However, I watched it specifically because I wanted to see how you got it all level. I have mine set up for a Stihl MS661 on a sliding carriage. Unless I am doing something wrong, I am really struggling on my own to get each rail section level enough for the carriage to slide smoothly across all four sections (I have a 4m F2 basic set up). Like you I am working on my own, and have wondered if you really just do need two pair of hands (one person to hold two pieces together, whilst the other tightens the nuts). Any tips would be super helpful...? Thanks, Nigel

Quick question: in the assembly instructions it says don't tighten the bolt for the connector between each guide rail while it's inside of the guide rail sections. Is this just a translation failure (I'm in America)? How could one tighten the bolt BEFORE that piece is installed? Thanks!

I really don’t understand what they means 😂🤪

After a year, how are you liking the F2? I ran an M8, the predecessor, for about 4 years and loved the machine but finally upgraded to a Woodmizer bandsaw mill and am really glad I did. Thanks for sharing!

I really love it, but I have 3 more sawmills :)

Hey! I saw you on Logosol costumer visit live video but i was to late to ask a question there, so here i am! What angles do you use on your grinder to sharpen the chains and secondly is it normal that whenever i cut dry spruce it requires fair a bit of force to cut but when i cut green spruce it cuts without any effort.
@Projectoftheday4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I use 10 top plat angel and depending on the wood and saw I set the machine to 60-65 degrees. And yes dry spruce is much harder to mill and requires more frequent sharpening.

So after using all these saw mills and if you had to do it all over again knowing what you know would you simply buy the speedsaw and call it good
@Projectoftheday4 жыл бұрын
Clearly it would be among the top pick. Depending on what I was going to mill. If I am going out to mill to relax, I usually choose F2 with Speedsaw.

Is the F2 a newer version to the black M8
@Projectoftheday4 жыл бұрын
Yes F2 and F2+ is the successor to M8. Where F2+ is for bigger logs than F2.
@gregbrooks95464 жыл бұрын
Did they stop making the black M8 not the farmers M8 where you had steps to lift heavy logs one step at a time.
@Projectoftheday4 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s replaced by the F2+ and the logsteps is optional for it.

Why did you upgrade?
@Projectoftheday5 жыл бұрын
There are many reasons I upgraded. But most important reasons for me are that the distance between the saw beam and the log has been increased by a few centimeters, so the speedsaw does not stick to protruding branches. The entire new saw is much firmer. Then I also want to compare old and new to make videos.
