Just what I need for our first outdoors Easter services - thank you! A quick tip - When you have copied the .lua file, and you navigate in OBS to the scripts folder, you can right click and paste direct in that window. You don't have to come out and do it in Explorer.

Excellent. Yes, it's not uncommon for the software to be a challenge to understand. Interface design / usability is a science within itself. Most of the developers are incredible coders but so so with usability. This plugin is within that disposition in my opinion. I'm glad you were able to figure it out. Hi Scott, when u goto tools scripts to see the location of the files, you can just paste the document there no need to browse there in a seperate explorer window as you are already using explorer to browse the files from OBS

finally got around to watching this video after saving it last year. great tutorial! easy to follow and straight to the point. question- is there a function or way to make switching between lyrics of a song (ex. bridge to second verse)? our church hops between the chorus, first/second verses, etc. and it looks odd if i were to quickly shuffle between them with my hotkeys.

Scott - thank you for the videos - They have helped our church so much during Covid. We stream worship with OBS and want to up our game. Now that people are back, we want to stream the audio from our NON camera computer (the first computer shows Google Slides with no audio delay, and feeds out to the second streaming computer through Teleporter) to their phones. Most hearing aides are bluetooth enabled to the phone and we are looking at Google Meet to give audio and also real time Closed Caption to the worshop experience over WiFi or cell phone service. Do you know of a plugin or a better way? Thanks again

Hi Scott, Thanks for this video. I have watched it several times and love the way you go step by step and show us what you are doing. However I am stumped on two things. 1. Are we supposed to be able to set up all our lyrics for the service and go from one to the other or do we have to keep going back in between songs into Scripts and load the next lyrics to the next text box? 2. In Sources there is a "Load lyrics for:" and I have tried that but can't figure out how it is supposed to work. Are there written instructions or a video to help me get this running? Right now I am having to create text sources for each song as a place holder and then going into Scripts between sonsg to Prepare the next lyrics and it is nerve racking during the live stream not to mention that I barely have enough time and am afraid of mucking up. The problem is, it replaced Scene 1 (Song-1) with the new song as shown in Scene 2 (Song-2). How can I separate the 2?

Is this possible to do in lower thirds format? My church is trying to figure out how to put scripture and song lyrics on the lower third of the screen. I saw you did a whole series on Animated Lower Thirds but we aren't looking for any kind of animation. Just blocks of text on lower third of the screen with maybe a semi-transparent background. My question is does this have function to go to another song prepared without going to the tools>>scripts menu and selecting the next song? I see there is "Prepare next" and "Prepare previous", but that does not seem to work

Scott added in step "Clear Prepared Songs" which not needed as it clears the list. In the script menu you can see the pull down list of prepared songs. The Hotkeys will work on this list. Note that you have to use 'Show' each time you prepare.

If your looking to break into the education niche I highly recommend Camtasia or Screenflow if you have a Mac. Both programs have a efficient work flows but ScreenFlow is the best.

I know about stream labs and its chat box widget it shows up to small on my cast and guest can't really see it. I was looking for more of a substitute like a free chat program or something that could be browser controlled over to OBS? I like to have my personal and celebrity guests be able to read each others comments and reply back as the cast is going on. See I do a show called "StarStruck", and have Celebrities I have worked with over the years come on and talk about their latest projects and upcoming films and they like to have the viewers ask questions and they answer them back in a rapid session. I am looking for a easy solution that all parties involved can see and still be part of the cast. I hope that helps out a little bit better on the explanation? If you can help it would be awesome.

Same for me, when i press prepare song it just goes black. cant see text. EDIT: opacity seems to keep resetting to 0, hence why the text is not displaying. @@ScottFichter thanks Scott, By the way, I was watching some of your videos (a lot of them) and I got another question, sorry haha, so my question is if you can make a video about how you interact or use all the different programs that work with scripts at the same time, for example, I have seen your videos about the lua scripts for a countdown timer, for the lioranboard stream deck, the lower thirds with dockable panels, the lyrics set up in this video, and the automatic and advanced scene switcher, which I love by the way, and so for example with the scene switcher we need to deactivate the automatic scene switcher to use the advanced one, that's ok but if I am going to be doing a live stream or recording it, and I am gonna be using the lioranboard and the lower thirds and automatic scene switcher or I wanna be using the lyrics while the lioranboard and the advanced scene switcher, how we access all the programs with scripts at the same time? And also with the fedora scripts because another person recommend you a video of andilippi were he use the fedora scripts for that, so can we use all the lua scripts programs and also the fedora ones at the same time? How we can do it? I think this will be a good video, specially for new ones like me, pls tell me if you can.

Hi Scott! Thank you so much for your tutorials. I love your channel, and I learned a lot from you. One problem that I encounter with this lyric script is that whenever I set up the lyrics by following everything you taught, everything goes right, but when I closed the OBS and reopened the OBS again, all the lyrics won't show up anymore, no matter what I clicked. I have to Clear Prepared Songs and redo the Prepare Song again, one by one in the song directory. In other words, once I prepared all my lyrics, I should never close my OBS; if not, all the lyrics would be gone, and they won't show up anymore in OBS unless I redo everything. Any fix on this problem? Thanks

To be clear you are planning to have two cameras that show two different angles of the singer while showing the lyrics correct? I would setup the cameras and the lyrics in the same scene. The cameras would be switched with hotkeys. The lyrics would always be visible while the cameras get switched. I would NOT have two lyric sources in two different scenes, that would not work.

My lyrics are not showing. I followed you step by step. When I click Show/Hide Lyrics, the text box collapses. When I go to properties, I can see the lyrics, but not on my screen. I don´t know what is wrong.

@@ScottFichter So, I kept trying to make it work. I realized that your Scripts panel was different than mine. I am not sure why. In my panel, there is a slider to control the Fade Speed of the lyrics. The maximum setting is at 20. Once I discover this feature, I was able to see the lyrics on the screen.

Those shows are old for what I have instore now. I was just wondering if you could help me out with some structure and guidance on how to get it off the ground and get my channel reset to do a better style of introduction, See I have no clue if this format is even good enough to have people interested in it. I have ideas but not sure. I like what you do and it looks amazing to catch peoples attention but I am not sure I am doing it right? I just need a chat room where my viewers can communicate with my guests on my new platform , I think I can use a another persons perspective ? Your interviews are fascinating and you're channel has incredible potential. I understand what you're doing and It's killer. All you need to do is sell you're channels value. You achieve this by doing the following. 1) Using the right channel name. 2) Creating the right channel banner, 3) Writing and effective about page. 4) Creating the right intro video 5) Selling the videos value right away 6) Make shorter effective videos from the live stream. Joe Rogan is a pro at this. This is effective because it get the word out much faster. 7) Responding to every single comment. 8) Making sure audio is crisp, clear, and good volume. 9) Using effective video titles. 10) Making thumbnails that use your face and have simple bold text and imagery that sells the topic of the video.
