I ordered the psr e 473 , its ariving tommorow night. Its gonna be my first real keyboard. Last 5 months been playing a very small midi that i bought with a mpc. And i enjoy music production so much , i never even played a note up untill 5 months ago. Now i want to learn to play the keys. Thank you for this tutorial 😀 The interface was a little different for me. I had to dig out the user manual a few times. This keyboard has gorgeous sounds. I tweaked some of them quite bit. It's really customizable. I haven't tried the mic input yet.

I really love your tutorials. First of all, you are easy to understand and second, we can actually see which buttons your fingers are pushing as opposed to other videos where their hand covers the button area and you can't see what they are doing. Lot's to learn, but I am taking it a little at a time. Just got my PSR-EW425 keyboard and am so thrilled at all of the things it can do. Now all I have to do is learn it - with your help of course!

I bought the 425 having watched your videos and then found this one having just received my 425 today. I pretty soon had it worked out but not the dual voice. Now having watched this, no problem! You most certainly did! I'm thrilled with the piano especially, frankly better than the Tyros! But, I'm using Creative PC speakers, I used these with my Roland, can't remember the model but was £2000 about 14 years ago and had no built in speakers. I couldn't believe the quality of the Creative speakers. I've tried the keyboards own speakers, but the Creatives are better still and they are inexpensive, currently £40 on Amazon!

I think that Yamaha e473/ew425 is inspired from Yamaha's arrangers because for me the body of the keyboard is similar to Yamaha sx600 and the bezel looks like as on genos

I just wish these accompaniment function will be available for guitars..really hard to find good drum machine effects pedal as complete as yamaha's complete cycle intro, verses,chorus,outro,end awesome drumfills every change close-open highhats. Realy awesome one-man band functions by yamaha..👍

I bought the PSR-EW425 today - can't get a WAV to play from my flash drive (it is correctly formatted) - I go through the loading process and it says "TooLong" when I hit enter. Why would this happen? The same WAV plays perfectly (on a different flash drive) on my Korg EK-50. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Jeremy ,thru all your experience with these keyboards, would you know which of the budget keyboards might have a midi connection for use with midi bass pedals(like for Hammond Organ) I looked up this keyboard online & find most of these keyboards don't have midi connection. The keyboard is very good. But I can't select the dual voice or split voice from the numpad. It seems the numpad was just made for the main voice, style, and tempo. Meanwhile the earlier versions such as e463,e453 works just fine. Anyway the voices are just great. I love it

Your experiences are similar to mine. It didn`t take me long to realise that I wasn`t going to get along with it and wouldn`t have the patience with that interface. The item was clearly not new when it arrived and there was a suspicion the registration memory was faulty so it went back very quickly. I know you have to press the shift button and the numlock at the same time to operate it, and that the numpad didn`t work on everything and that you have to use the wheel. Most of the stuff is on the function button including the dual and split voices, but I found it a pain having to keep pressing that ENTER button, although that might have been a fault. I still have a 373 which is OK, there is no ENTER button, and I believe neither has the 463 which was the one I wanted but Yamaha took it off the market just as I was about to order. They`ll never tell you anything but there is something a bit odd about the switch from 463 to 473. The 473 came out with this script about how advanced it was using the dials and not having to put numbers in and a couple of other things, but I get the feeling it wasn`t that popular like the 463 which suddenly and mysteriously disappeared. Now we find the 473 has a numbering system which seems to have been squeezed in over the top of an existing arrangement and may have contributed to the present problems.

Hey Jeremy, in DGX 670 there is a keyboard mode called "full keyboard", means, play anywhere you want, the accompaniment will follow and catch your chords. is this possible with the 473 or 425? or are we limited to playing chords only in the left hand?

I tried turning on numlock while on Dual voice. It doesn't work as this video suggests. So to change the Dual Voice you have to scroll through the long list of voices. I haven't found a way to just hit the dual voice by number directly.

Hi I also have a yamaha E425 and i tried changing the dual voices using the category pad and nothing happens, even when i use num lock to punch in numbers to change dual voice on the category pad the num symbol on the display comes of-- what i want mainly is to change the dual voice using the category pad, CAN you do a video on how to use the category pad to change dual voice, I did'nt see you did it it this video, I tried with mines and it don't work so I have to use the wheel to change and its not quick enough for for i want to do Thanks Jeremy Looking forward to that video
