I used take a solo and my band would stand around the kit and do the cymbal catches for me. I'd do a thing where I'd try to fake em out on what cymbal I would crash for them to catch. The audience really got a kick out of it. They'd boo my band mates if I faked em successfully and just really liked it. But enough about me. Great solo here. Awesome technique. Lots of power and stamina. Well done.

Double pedal on a single bass drum…with two bass drums? 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's a miking thing. When you have to mike only one bass drum you get the same sound and it's easier to mix. At least some use it because of that. Also I've heard some use it because they are accustomed to the feel of the other beater (left) being pressed against the head often, which doesn't happen with two bass drums.
