This track makes use of microtonal tuning of the instrument, like the slight variations you hear in the beginning, the synth sounds a bit out of tune and sometimes it sounds in tune, so it's not entire semitones variations but rather in between semitones, this can trigger powerful emotions

You know, I found your music around ten years ago. I'm... incredibly surprised to find your music again. I'm so glad you're still making music. I found you again due to bravoclap, I think, and thought that this music sounded very familiar to me. Sure enough I check today and find out that you were indeed the same person who made 'NOISE is the unlockable hero' and 'Part of The Sky' which I grabbed as an mp3 and stuck it on my little mp3 player when I was small. It's STILL saved to my computer. I think that's proof that you got a Really unique style of music, if I can recognize you from that long ago. That being said, apologies for my long comment, but this is a fucking banger and I'm definitely subscribing as to not lose you again.

please don't do drugs to my music... i can't stop you but this makes me very uncomfortable... Edit: thinking on why I feel uncomfortable... I recognize sometimes people can use drugs responsibly, but often times they are used as a deep escape that can do a lot more harm than good. I do not like... the concept of my music being part of a "deep escape that does more harm than good" I recognize certain people can do drugs and be "fine" and not hurt themselves or others (i recognize that some drugs are not physically/chemically addictive too), but I also feel stressed from how casually you spoke of doing drugs, like... you didnt really consider how i might take this remark i guess? which makes me feel concern over how you might be using my music and drugs i don't know you, so i don't know how you actually do drugs or why, and maybe asking you not to do drugs while listening to my music is overstepping on my part, maybe it helps you a lot in a way i cant conceptualize so im trying to elaborate my feeling cuz i dont want to just sound like im some holier-than-thou straight-edge type who is just like "ew a weed?" i just feel uncomfortable due to a lot of my own personal experiences and trauma and i guess i always make my music as a way for myself to GROUND to reality, even when i'm hurting or stuck in a very dissociative mood. my music tends to be a lot of very strong feelings i cannot word in normal ways, so i communicate it into music so i feel pain and worry at the idea of someone using my music to possibly hurt themselves or remove themselves from reality again, i dont know your situation or why you do drugs or what meaning my music has to you when you do these drugs, so its possible this is a good thing But i can only react given the information i have (you do not have to share with me any of the reasons or feelings you have, this is just how i parse the world, i act on what information i do have) and with my experiences and this comment, i just feel a deep discomfort i hope you understand, and im sorry for such a wordy reply... i'm trying to be more upfront with my feelings lately even when theyre complicated or weird, hence why i am posting a song again and sometimes i reply to comments a little more

I was wondering, any chances a mix of something will ever be made again? Like, OFF mix or Yume 2ikki mix, or was that purely done by the idea of someone commissioning it?
@PengoSolvent3 жыл бұрын
there is a chance but i mainly do original music. i have a bunch of mixes that are half finished and one that IS finished just needs art and has some... special stuff to consider mixes in the past were mostly stuff i did because i wanted to do it. people would at times request stuff but i dont take requests for that anymore because i just can't really force myself to care about making a song work also people got really... weird about my mixes and acting entitled to them so there IS a chance, but that chance is not one I'd bank on and it would be dependent on it being something i like a lot as opposed to a request

sounds like sevish!!! i love it! even if it wasn't intentional i love the use of microtones
@PengoSolvent3 жыл бұрын
not sure who (or what?) sevish is! also not entirely sure of microtones but i have heard of it i think? just not sure i used it here, though i might have without knowing i have very little formal music training
@xyzzypumpkin5043 жыл бұрын
@@PengoSolvent microtones are notes that are rarely ever used, they sit in-between the usual notes on a piano if i remember correctly, it has to do with sound frequencies they are what makes that 'sour note' sound, but used together can make interesting music! sevish is a music artist that uses microtones almost exclusively i think using his music as an example, here's the difference between those notes and your typical notes kzbin.info/www/bejne/roe9qmx9isqAp7s vs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZKtf2SfgNJljdk you have to listen closely to hear it!
@PengoSolvent3 жыл бұрын
oh okay cool yeah i was thinking microtones are basically what is considered atypical in western music system stuff im just surprised that i used them haha since i wasnt really... like, a lot of the stuff i do is very "typical" in terms of the placement of notes, but I suppose a lot of the instruments were purposefully detuned for this song so I guess that counts! Listening to the droplet songs sounds like... exactly the problem i have with music haha i cannot actually hear the difference (instantly) and i actually cant recognize music notes in the same way (as in when i try to place notes, i do not think of ABCDEFG, i hum the note im looking for and match the sound to the note im humming) so i can sense an emotional difference in the music (the non-microtonal one feels different very very slightly, somehow more unified in a way that makes it feel less... stark?) but i cannot HEAR it i have trouble with that with sound, outside of things that i hear a lot or like a lot (so hearing a character say a quote, if someone else edits it i will most likely be able to tell) very interesting!
@xyzzypumpkin5043 жыл бұрын
@@PengoSolvent ableton has a plugin for microtonal stuff, either that or it was a free one online. maybe if you can't replicate a note that you hum, it could be this problem? i think it depends on the type of music you've grown up with, i guess one part thats easy for me to hear the difference in droplet is from 2:00 to 2:09 on each video the 12 tone/western tone one sounds a bit different as it climbs up i'm no music expert either, i don't know music theory well i just like to find obscure music and learn about it ^__^ i wish i could make music myself, but i feel restricted by the fact i don't know music theory. i wish i could do what you do, make music without learning it
@PengoSolvent3 жыл бұрын
one can learn music in their own way, just need to find meaning and make internal structures uh.... thats a little hard to explain, but basically i can learn bits and pieces of theory if i tie it to my own personal meaning i started making music with very little information, like a memory of when i was in elementary school of my friend who knew how to play piano showing me how a chord sounds good if you press two white keys but leave another white key in the middle so that was the basis of me playing around in the piano roll in FL studio when i started (i think by then i was just starting high school) now i have a bit more strange little tips and tricks in my head with chords, but it is always built on (or breaking away from) that simple thing my friend showed me when i was like 8 just have to find your own meaning and be patient with yourself if you can be
