oh my goodness - I just finished this book tonight and had to come back and find a review about it because it is so good - I totally relate to what you said - I also didn't want it to end and am definitely going to be thinking on it - what a powerful way to blend serious topics and a love story - with really great writing - though I definitely agree on the need for trigger warnings. Thanks for the video and space for me to hold onto that feeling of finishing a great book for just a few more moments :)

My first attempt at this book as not going well and I put it down. I picked it back up this year and instantly became so invested. Yes to the TW should be talked about more. I was not expecting them but I still loved the story. The writing, the comedy, the “romance,” and that smart-ass Child!!!! And nods to Brooklyn. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Initially, I felt the same way with that first chapter or two…I was like, “where is she going with this?” But once I got past those chapters I devoured it!! I always have a problem with mouthy kids. Have you read Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan? I loved the book, but the daughter annoyed the crap out of me! 😫😂

Listen... I raved so hard on this, my friend got me the hardback. Blew me away and made my no 1 for 2021. Agree on the triggers and your review is spot on, also where did you get the t-shirt?

Yes!! It was incredible! I hear they are adapting it for a movie…I PRAY they don’t mess it up!! 😩 My cousin gave me the t-shirt for a Christmas a couple of years ago. I think Spike Lee might actually have a 40 Acres & A Mule online shop though…🤔
