I was not raised Christian and I’m just a regular weird New York City Connecticut border white kid but I watched this during the coronavirus ( and while suffering from it) and it made me laugh and cry the whole time and I really am really sincere this is amazing this man is an amazing person. I really hope I continue to watch this brilliant brilliant gentleman what an amazing amazing guy I can’t even imagine how much energy it would take to speak to a crowd with your soul over and over again.

When I hear Rev Wright's profetic wisdom some part of me recognize's the resounding truth undergirding his words; as if, while Rev Wright was speaking, Rev Wright disappeared and the Lord remained speaking. That is why they fear you; what they could only hope to pretend to be, you are. What a gift, amazing. Testimony, indeed.

It is interesting how former President Obama was discouraged from sitting under his spiritual covering, while the known Nationalist, Steve Bannon pseudo served in Trumps' cabinet.

@@aletheadavis3062 Obama gave in to temptation...that is what opened the door for Trump. The promise that Obama represented was squandered...when we could be living in a Kingdom of Heaven...instead, we are dashed upon the shores of greed, narcissism, and decadence by a storm of hubris and selfishness emanating from the halls of Rome. Are we not always being tested?

Awesome time listing and learning from this great man of God, I love older and season Black Pastors who have stood the test of times. there are Grace and temperament plus a cadence that excites the listening heart. there an awakening, expectancy to be impregnated by the Holy Spirit, to be in awe of the integrity of the man even in being rebuked because you know it's Love and you know it's God. so you and I may know how to walk with God and serve our fellowman.

The gathering that Tavis Smiley hosted made little mention, explanation of "The Black Church". I was waiting to hear more Black Theologians being quoted and, or referenced as much as the latter. I must recant my statement regarding the lack of Black Theologians. You blessed my soul with the account of a few Clergy who yet speak the inerrant Word of God without cowardice.

After listening to several of the 21st century Preacher/Teachers/Pastors very recently, I have noticed a common thread, if you will of "political correctness" I find political correctness un akin to the inerrant Word of God. The Holy Writ speaks against unnatural and effiminate behavior, yet some of the most prominate Clergy seem to dismiss this passage of the Gospel truth.This is the qualifying premiss by which I bring up this point.

Preaching the gospel to the poor is a given. Spiritual poverty and concern over physical poverty. Of course it's part of the job description of the Messiah. This is seen in Leviticus (quoted on the liberty bell)., echoed in Isaiah 61 and book 5 of Psalms star and end bookend this, The great sin need see in the moral failures in Psalm 106 on the failures of Israel (or us) ending book 4 of Psalms, Book 5 opens with Psalm 107 which deliverance from chains even is due to your guilt, helping the lost coming home, healing , forces of nature and Psalm 146, 147 has the same job description healing the broken hearted, freeing the captures and opening blind eyes. In the end the work of Messiah is the means and ends of 'coming home' Interestingly, almost all the references to a poor man in Psalms are pointing to Jesus who became poor. The greatest deliverance is in Jesus and from sin.

Talking solves nothing if it's not followed with constructive intelligent and biblical based actions. All of these elaborates terms does not impress God nor Satan. Our problem is sin. Sin is the cause and salvation is the cure, period

The DE King story was very good. Maybe part of the strength was he had such a Christ centric message. TL Barrett also regarding the thief being in paradise also a Christ centric message. OK... why is it the ones with no seminary education gave the most stunning truths about Christ . Why do we see some black preachers with PhDs departing from Biblical and Apostolic faith calling God a "she" like Rafael Warnock who was quoted? It does violence to the Apostle's creed and the Trinity. Why do many tragically support abortion? 3rd trimester John the Baptist leapt for joy over 1st trimester Jesus when Mary visited Elizabeth both 'with child" according to the Dr Luke. Tragically most black pregnancies in NYC end in abortion and most babies don't make it out alive.

@IamDariusRandle6 жыл бұрын
Sydney foote I think you need to listen to the lecture and hear the history first. He is speaking to our younger generation. We can’t know where we going unless we know where we been. Many of us wasn’t born when many of these preachers he’s mentioned. A lot of sermons and preachers I never heard of that are dead and gone but he’s heard them and had the opportunity to witness them. This is a powerful lecture one of his greatest. Now he doesn’t have the ability to speak this clearly since his stroke which makes it so special
