Australia has never unilaterally attacked anyone. But in it's own defence, or in treaty agreement with its allies, it has unleashed the dogs on just about every major military conflict in the 20th and 21st centuries. Ranking 19th in the Global Military (GFP 2019) , and 10th in Asia-Pacific, the ADF is a 'Mid level non-nuclear (Maybe) power on par with Canada, but behind Japan, Germany, it is capable of limited but developing force projection, extended air coverage and a growing Naval presence in it's area of interest. Summary: A lot of experience. Still growing. Approach with caution.
@mrhaz89394 жыл бұрын
Very true, although remember that there is a constant history of Aussie soldiers lacking equipment but make doing with what they have and succeeding, they don’t go “Oh, we don’t have that, we’ll lose”, that’s their most dangerous part, they know how to fight as an under dog well.

Somewhat wrong. Australia hasn’t attacked anyone for resources or land. In 1965 when menzies told the public that Australia would admit its forces to Vietnam due to the treaty of SEATO and ANZUS. SEATO wouldn’t let Australia help the south Vietnamese unless requested to do so. Australia knew that they were the final domino in way of Chinese communism if they didn’t act directly as to stop the threat a few Asian countries down. We asked South Vietnam if we could be requested officially. This was called “forward defence” which was basically going to fight offensively for the defence of Australia and protection of its waters. No we have never officially attacked anyone, but the Vietnam war was an offending attack, not for the interest of gaining anything, but moreso securing and protecting Australia from the communist threat

Tristan Keech actually the emu's one due to shear numbers. The emu's were like an infestation so the government wanted to look like it would help so they declared war. It was like 250,000 emu's vs 2 Australian soldiers with machine guns they had something like 10,000 shells and got about 2 thousand and then ran out of ammo so they surrendered. # are probably wrong but proportions and the general just of it should be accurate.

The reason we are so good, is because we train hard every day. I was in the Australian Army, 6RAR based in Townsville and all we did was train for war, nothing else. And whilst out Governments are time are crap, they always try to buy the best equipment . We have learnt that when you have a small Army, then your Army needs to be so well drilled and disciplined that your Army remains calm even when under heavy fire from larger numbers. And here is just one battle, the battle of Long Tan was fought on 18 August 1966. One-hundred-and-five men from D Company, 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR) and three New Zealanders from an artillery forward observation party from New Zealand’s 161 Field Battery, encountered a force of more than 2,000 Viet Cong soldiers. During the battle, 17 Australians were killed and a further 25 were wounded, one of whom later died of wounds. This was the highest number of Australian casualties incurred in any one engagement of the Vietnam War. The losses on the Vietnamese side were at least 245 dead, an estimated 350 wounded, and three captured. A kill ratio of 14:1. Aussies fight smart, dont need overwhelming numbers, just good tactics and using the equipment to its fullest extent.

Alot of people saying their country had the best or most feared in ww1 and 2... the fact is we ALL had the best. Everyone stood up and did their job regardless of the fear and pain and sacrifice or the horros they witnessed... The nazi soldiers in africa were just as terrified when the air got thick as our diggers but they did their jobs and pushed on. Just like our diggers did their jobs no matter what. To start throwing around who was better and why kinda takes away from why we fought to begin with... why the individuals fought beyond politics and tyranny... it was for the bloke next to you and those at home. We aussies called it "mateship" and my mates in the ADF will let anyone who asks know thats why they do it now. And as for the people saying we australians are america or britains bitch because we rush to help them out... thats not being a bitch... thats being a good mate. Its what mates do. Were there when you need us and we do our best to get you home alive. All respect to all the armed forces. War is hell and they walk through it willingly to bring their mates home alive.

If you go to war stay as far away from the Americans as you can they couldn't put a Bloody round on target to save their own lives, They dropped more bloody bombs on their own solders then they did the enemy.
