I remember going there when I was a little girl back in the 70’s. I also remember Lions Country Safari during that sans time period.

I was 10 when it opened, and I barely remember it. But I miss those days.

Wow, does this take me back in time. I used to work in the Live Show at Seven Seas in that Japanese Pagoda-style building in the mid-70s. It was an experience to see it in those days, but the park was already on a downward spiral at that point. You could tell that attendance was off, and unlike Six Flags nearby, there was no way to add new attractions to the limited space of the park. Add in the Ranger games taking up parking and causing traffic congestion and you had a recipe for eventual closure.

I worked there the first season. It was an unfortunate folly for Arlington.

I never got to visit the park. It's a Sheraton hotel now. But they still have the Pagoda and use it for dining/special events. They may have another element or two left over from the park, but that would be it.

Was Seven Seas really where the Sheraton is now? I knew it was nearby, didn't realize it's on the same property. UPDATE - Pretty sure the Sheraton was down the street.

they had a circular 2 level shark tank, I was quite short at the time but on the upper level I reached my hand over the rim and into the water as usual my dad pulled me back before I got in trouble. I was brave for a 12 year old, I wouldn't do that again. That was better than Six Flags. I wish they would bring it back. I tasted Lobster for the first time at the Sea Cave. Oh those were good times.

Who remembers Lion Country Safari in Grand Prairie?

I remember the melody for the Seven Seas jingle, but the lyrics are really sketchy in my mind. However I clearly recall the closing line, "Come learn the secrets of the deep, come to Seven Seas." This was sometime during the summer of 1972, not long after the park opened. One commercial I remember in particular featured two martial artists putting on a display, one guy throwing the other and throwing a few mock punches afterward.

Just saw this. I still have a park map of Hawai'i Kai. There was a commercial promotion..."Komo Mai, Come With Me, Say These Words And Kids Are Free."

I always felt bad for the sea animals, used to swmiing for mile and dmiles, then stuck in those little tanks.

You can build sport stadiums but not a shark tank? See San Antonio. And yes they have public transportation
