I love the quiet gravity you present with. It really leaves room for the imagination with the visuals and the nostalgia for the game/fantasy in general to ramp up. I think it's similar to why vanilla itself is great: there's enough there to feel like adventure and wonder is hinted at, but not enough that you rely on the media itself to create everything. It just makes me want to participate in wondering/dreaming up what other secrets might exist in WoW!

absolutely agree, Jediwarlock has always found a way to put the mystery back into wow, and put it in a way that no one has seen before. It reminds me of when I was still exploring Azeroth, and shows me that I still can!

The Riplash Ruins always impressed me. The sub-zone is so grand, it could have been a dungeon. The final quest having you run through the whole temple to kill one final quest mob, almost made me sad to not stay there longer

Yeah! They definitely could have done more with it... such a unique area! :D

I know most commentors for this channel prefer we trash on Retail, but I standby that Azj-Kahet was a well crafted spiritual successor to its sister kingdom. If they imported the zone exactly how it is to Northrend and called it Azjol-Nerub, people who are unhappy about it right now would be crying tears of joy exploring the zone that was robbed from us in Wrath. There are many nooks and crannys scattered around the zone that the main quests don't bring you to, so you'll find interesting lore tidbits here and there while exploring. We'll see what Blizzard plans to do with the Old Kingdom in The Last Titan. I don't think people would want Azj-Kahet 2.0.

Would you consider looking into Tanaris, specifically the giant skeletons littered around the zone. I was questing out there recently in Classic & I feel like there's a story there, but it doesn't seem that Blizzard has ever stated what creatures they actually belong to (at least in my very cursory google search). The zone is also home to dragons in the Caverns of Time, trolls in Zul'Farrak, Titan constructs down in Uldum (in Classic, until it was later expanded in Cata) as well as the Silithid from the nearby Ahn'Qiraj. Beyond that the skeletons have different skulls (at least in Classic, I haven't checked retail) with one featuring the head of a creature that seems to be a dragon/rhino while the other has a Kodo looking skull. I know you already covered the zone in your WoW Rocks series on the zone, but still I think it might be interesting to do a deeper dive on these ancient creatures.

Hi Jedi! Small correction at 2:43: Hrothgar's Landing isn't the farthest north point players have reached. That honor goes to the Lost Glacier in Legion. But to be fair, you said _"all players"_ and only death knights could go to Lost Glacier. I wish Hrothgar's Landing had been a full leveling zone.

The last titan expansion, we are going back to Northrend. There is so much lore and land to expand upon. Will we see the great Nerubian underground finally? how much has Northrend changed since we defeated the Lich King 15 years ago? Are the scourge rampaging with out their master? Has the path of the titans been repaired? so excited to find out.

What font did you use for your location title cards? I think it looks neat! Also have you considered making similar videos for LoTR Online? I've never played it but I'd assume that it has some equally cool locations.
@Jediwarlock2 ай бұрын
Just checked for ya... the font is called Optimus Princeps, but I believe it is better known as the "Dark Souls font" from the Souls games. :) I used to make lore and exploration vids for LotRO (if you scroll WAY back on the channel)... I'd love to make more in the future! Stay tuned ;)

Huh, I thought I had traversed over ALL of Northrend. I guess I somehow missed Hrothgar's Landing. Are there any quests there?
@Jediwarlock2 ай бұрын
The quests are tied to the Argent Crusade questlines (Patch 3.2) with the crusader tournament and the jousting and all of that. :)
@diegoaespitia2 ай бұрын
kind of a shame all this cool stuff in Wrath could EASILY be missed. I enjoyed Wrath, my only issue is that leveling was too quick. I skipped 99 percent of what you listed just from questing and dungeons in 3 areas total. I understand many dont enjoy leveling but I believe a slower leveling experience allows you to explore more. My favorite area is Thunderfall in North East Storm Peaks. the area with all the frozen Dwarves fighting Storm Giants in an epic battle. Sadly, the area isn't really used except for 1 lvl 80 quest

Man, an Azhol-Nerub zone would just have been the coolest. I've always loved the Nerubians. The new nerubian zone in tWW ain't bad, and is obviously TECHNICALLY superior to anything they could have made in Wrath, but... well, the context is different. I would have been floored by questing and exploring down there as a kid, I think.

They did release a wannabe azjol nerub în war within but: 1. It doesn't feel the same. 2. It's în another part of the world. 3. We got,s to defeat another old god pokemon. În another timeline wotlk ended with 3.5, adding drakkari trolls + vrykuls and azjol nerub as full blown raids, sprinkle in some 5 man dungs as they did with pos/fos/hor, even add the underground lvling zone later on for alt junkies to have fun with. It would've been the best time line. But alas, the old Blizzard is dead, the new blito makes time-wasters în wow skin.
@Jediwarlock2 ай бұрын
You make good points, I don't think Azj-Kahet lives up to the original memory of Azjol-Nerub :(
