An interesting point to note, is that in all expansions, we only hear the voice of ‘the narrator’ at the point of character creation, yet it is a major driver in the compulsion to ‘level’ our characters and fulfil the destiny set out for our races. I can’t help feeling that each new expansion should have been accompanied by ‘the narrator’ giving a gentle guiding hand as to where our racial destinies lie and inspiring people each expansion, making them feel as purposeful as they did 20 years ago.

I hate how they revamped this in Cata, the original version was perfect.

I get the deal, but i don't believe these are facts. Even tho i mostly played Alliance over the years, i enjoy WAY more questing as horde, it's much more streamlined while still being interesting, both forsaken and barrens club. Also, Stormwind organized? Please... You just played Alliance, right? Thunderbluff race supreme. Stormwing is walking simulator for anything.

This video was incredible! Well done, very much enjoyed it. I've played horde for a while now, but this makes me want to swap back to play out these questlines!

Do you think it is there a connection between Tidestone of Golganneth and the Stone of the Tides?

Regardless of class unless your Paladin, their class quest required level 12.

Absolutely agree 100% This is what I have replayed on dozens of characters. Perfecting a questing path. Refining it. I have played since 2/2/2005 and I still love it to this day. Great Video

So much nostalgia for many, but I find those early human zones little more than a delivery service simulator. It's like early training to be Amazon delivery driver, but on foot.

I really get the sense that STV was made solely for leveling convenience and so other zones could be left incomplete. The 100+ kill X quests are so boring, mindless, and mostly detached from any bigger picture events you cant convince me otherwise. Anyone who has played alliance can feel the difference once you out level Duskwood. Up until that point storylines were fairly elaborate and rewarding. After that? Not so much. But even in the lower level zones large areas are relatively undeveloped. The huge Gnoll encampments in Westfall cant all be there simply for one lower level quest for 8 Gnoll paws, and the Orcs in Western Redridge are essentially there for decoration. But these four lower level zones really set the standard for what gameplay should be like.

That's what pisses me off. Anakin had been very self-centered and arrogant for quite some time giving rise to his lust for power, recognition and status. Ultimately he is finally fully corrupted as he gave in to his selfish desires choosing his own wants and needs over doing what's right; yet, in the end, he is able to redeem himself. Arthas's intentions were noble and selfless. He would do whatever was necessary to protect and defend his people and the world even if meant sacrificing his very soul. Which is exactly what happened. In the end, however, there was no chance of redemption for Arthas. Anakin def should have been sent to the Maw. He would be so screwed as I'm sure the Force doesn't exist there.

The human zones were among the first developed and I think it shows. They are very detailed and rich in lore.

I did the "One Continent Challenge" about 15ish years ago as a Blood Elf Mage on Kalimdor. Made a toon and a guildie ported me to Orgrimmar. Same rules, No farming, no professions, can't leave the continent. I didn't have a single issue..... 1-60 casually playing, took me about 4 months. Toon's level 80 now, still no professions. lol

I have to agree with this take. They clearly put the most effort into the human starter zones. The dwarven zones were also pretty solid, but having played the game several times, the human starting zone never gets old.

I like to think that overtime, the centaur, with the help of the environment eroding them, destroyed them to be rid of the reminder of the Titans. Given it seems old world lore is becoming relevant again, with Tauren mythos and whatnot, alongside the lil cross over hints we got in SoD (and the hints for a revamp), I wouldn't be surprised if they made a comeback, given how modern lore is basically suggesting that titan works expand far below the ground and perhaps intertwine more than we realize.

This was definitely the best area in WoW. But perhaps ironically, one of my most memorable experiences from this time was the epic journey required to run my level 10 Night Elf Hunter all the way from Darnassus so that I could level her in these zones.

I actually think most of these treasures come from outside Northernd, as the Vrykul connonically sail the seas all over the world, raiding and pillaging. Just cause we don't see it happen in a game doesn't mean it's not happening in the world

I love the zones of the classic WoW game. The newer zones are visually stunning, but they're too "busy" in many ways. The rolling plains of Mulgore or the Empty wastes of Desolace are where my happiest memories were forged.
