DAY 46 HOW TO : MAKE A JOURNAL COVER FROM A FILE FOLDER

I have already made my own folder, and was overjoyed to find a 1953 Dutch town or village map at an antique fair yesterday. It was already badly torn, so am happy to cut it up for the journal. Also found about 100 sheets of 1880’s original French receipts and hand written letters, sooo happy with my find, just wanted to share it, hope that’s ok.

Thank you for showing different ways to create. I sat down with a couple of file folders and began to create. It was fun to trail, what would work and what wouldn't 😉. My grandson is going on a dig in Bulgaria, this summer. I've been working a a field journal for him. A lot of what I've done is following you. I know some of us can easily adapt a regular file folder to end up with the same folder you created, but for others, their brains just work differently and/or they don’t have as much experience with crafting and they just can’t quite wrap their brain around how to make it….I say that to say this…. it is absolutely amazing that you recognize their challenge, and time and time again stop to share a tutorial to help, guide, and teach them so they can follow along. That is one of the reasons I feel your channel has grown, you actually want to inspire and teach everyone no matter new or experienced. ❤

I found the 3 flap folder on Amazon for 10 was over 38 dollars no way I’m going to spend that kind of money on them.but I’m so happy your going to show us how we can do this with just a regular folder,I was thinking you could cut another file folder and make your on flaps.

This was fun and informative. TFS❤ I love this sort of project. I often make my own, whatever, from packaging or A4 cardstock. US style file folders are not a common thing in the UK and I don't have an Amazon account...😮 I know, can you believe that! I made my file folder by using A4 card, with a piece added along the bottom for the pocket and stuck two flaps on either side. Dont let not having a file folder stop you!

I am really enjoying Gretchen and Gunther. The blue file folders were from Avery and came with labels in for printing(at least in the UK they did) but that was years ago in the early 2000's, I still have loads left and as soon as I saw you had used a similar type one for Gunther I dug them out

I found some on Amazon. However, you either had to buy a massive quantity (50 for $33) or they were quite expensive (5 for $21) and you may or may not get a choice of colors. Hope this helps.
