Tommy's voice will always be at home with Seventh Wonder. He does a good job with Kamelot but he is a different beast altogether when singing with SW. His vocals sounds unleashed, unrestricted, and natural. Loving the new album so far. 🤘

As another commenter said, this is where Tommy’s home band. He’s always seemed to have more freedom with his singing here than in Kamelot. Now, his vocals in Kamelot also show the versatility in his voice, and he’s certainly not bad in Kamelot, but he just doesn’t have as much freedom with it as he always had in SW. I can’t wait to listen to this whole album!
@lt71142 жыл бұрын
Tommy's voice is insane. I'd say Kamelot keeps him from performing as many impromptu flourishes like he does in SW - but honestly that is my favorite part about his style.
@War6242 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I think it helps that Seventh Wonder is a prog metal band, as opposed to Kamelot, which I would say is more in the power metal subgenre. I think SW being prog gives Tommy, as you said, more freedom vocally. Regarding Kamelot, they still sound great, but I feel like the content of their songs has taken a dip since Roy left. I don't know who was writing the lyrics then, but they were better. Now with this new SW album, the keys are slapping real hard. Whoever may think being a keyboardist is whack are wrong. Lol. In all, this album is amazing.
@marc-andremorency99032 жыл бұрын
My two cents on Tommy's singing differences: Seventh Wonder is not a heavy touring band, therefore he can write crazy stuff and deliver in studio. pretty risky though to carry that material live night after night. Pretty sure he writes thinking of the live delivery on tour, hence the lower/simplier stuff on Kamelot.
@ChristianCarrizales2 жыл бұрын
@@War624 Yeah I agree about Kamelot. Their golden era was no doubt from “The Fourth Legacy” up to “The Black Halo”, and I still enjoyed their other stuff with Khan. I liked Haven a lot too, but any of their new stuff outside of Haven just doesn’t do it for me.

So many thoughts on Elegy. A boy grows up inspired by music all around them but when he loses his father/father figure, he's been conditioned in the past to control his emotions and not let them out and be seen like most men are in today's society. Looking for a way to channel his emotions, and with the power of music, he is able to portray those necessary emotions and finally let go of the death of a loved one. Someone that he has looked up to for guidance throughout his entire life. Amazing song!

Love this album! SW does not disappoint. One thing that really disappoints is that Kamelot doesn’t promote Tommy’s “other” band. They didn’t with Tiara either. Nothing mentioned on their social media. This really sucks because it would open up this great music to hundreds of thousands of new people.
