I'm a licensed Cosmetologist and I specialize in Keratin treatments. Many don't know that there are different levels of keratin treatments. Fir customers wanting to keep curl they need a stylist who uses a treatment that is formulated for a textured process. They generally include a mask that is applied after curing the hair. Also, the desired curl pattern and weight needs to be encouraged using a method that is best for the desired result. A diffuser will always be necessary to cure the pattern prior to rinsing. It is important to follow manufacturers instructions because there are so many types of this product and they all have a step that varies and must be followed exactly to achieve a stable outcome. This video was very informative. Thank you for sharing.
@sevenzenhair6711 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. I wouldn't say there are levels of keratin but as you know with manufacturing instructions there are different ways to apply and process. I speak with the creator of this brand and with this product you can do it with wet hair and/or sit them under the dryer and only do one/two pass with iron if you don't want a full process or if the hair is coarser or client wants to lose curl you can apply on dry hair and process a little longer. I have tried ones for curly hair and to be honest the two have tried either dont work or leave the hair dry. Actually applying proper heat to activate and seals helps remove so much frizz from the curls still allowing them to wear curly hair instead of straight.

You’re a real one! Thanks to you and your sister for demonstrating this. It’s so nice to see what the curls look like styled after the treatment because although there are a few videos on KZbin showing the keratin treatment on natural hair they only show the hair straightened after. I had to take a leap of faith when I did this myself and was researching because early last year my hair was at the awkward length and I was struggling to style it and very nearly relaxed/texlaxed it but didn’t want to destroy my curls or the commitment of relaxers. Well after trawling the net I came across keratin treatment. I’ve since done it twice and it’s been a game changer. My hair has been easier to manage. I have noticed my roots are a little thicker though and I’m looking into Botox for hair. It’s similar to the keratin but supposedly absolutely no formaldehyde, more natural.

This was the best video about the Keratin treatment on type 4 hair. I too was wondering about how the hair behaves when you want to wear it as a wash n go. It’s beautiful and I am happy to see that you still have the versatility to still wear your hair curly as I do enjoy still having my curls. Just want more manageability. Thank you!
@rayvenvinson43003 жыл бұрын
Completely agree! I have a mix of 3C/4A hair, which is manageable but because of how easily it tangled, I really never wear it down. Because Keratin treatments wear off, this seems like it would be a great way to get looser curls without permanently changing my hair

I've done the Keratin Treatment once before and I absolutely loved it. For reference the front of my hair is 3A, Middle 3B and back 3C. When I did it I was able to even out my hair texture and reduce a lot of frizz as I am always on the go. y hair was shiny, silky and I was able to retain more length because I wasn't constantly styling hair every day. I found my hair got a lot longer. However, I am a lifeguard and I work primarily with water. I have yet to do it again because I spend about 30 hours a week in chlorinated water and it just isn't practical for my lifestyle at the moment. I did notice that the Keratin helped my hair avoid chlorine damage initially but I do not have 3 consecutive days off to do the treatment again. I move cities and hopefully within a few months I'll be able to do it again.

That's why I liked keratin blowout. My hair doesn't get stick-straight from relaxers anyway but it recovered my curls a lot better after the Brazilian Blowout. My hair felt healthy and the looser curls didn't bother me. Mine went from spiral curls to my post-beach curl pattern (3b to a 3a/2c) and bounced back as the treatment wore off. And I had my hair bleached and dyed the same day so even with the extra processing beforehand it didn't kill my curls.

I’m going down the rabbit hole on learning about this - I appreciate your video- very informative Only problem is you can never stop the treatments without devastating breakage - life on process - I’m not sure I want to go through that … Strong gels and creams seem to be my defense on frizz. Weekly shampoo, deep condition w/heat- wash and go with heavy product application. Hooded/blow dry to set. My hair lasts 1 week - I end the week in a high puff. I’m med- high porosity, 4a/3c, highly dense hair.

I learned the hard way that you can’t stop the treatments 😩 as soon as new growth comes in curly it will need to be treated as well. When I stopped going for the touch ups a lot of the length had to be cut because it was so straight causing it to tangle, shed , and overall become unmanageable because of the 2 different textures I had going on. You and I have the same hair type by the way and mine also gets pretty dry. This may not be everyone’s experience with keratin but it sure was mine. While the treatment was maintained my hair was beautiful and very manageable but if you ever change your mind, you have been warned lol

I now have straight hair with afro roots and im on my weight loss shxt so sweating through everyday which means more heat than ever. This video was awesome! So helpful and informative. This gave me the information I needed to make a decision about what I want to do for my hair. I've definitely been tempted to relax again, so I'm exvited to try the keratin first!

Appreciate this, I’ve decided to get a keratin treatment, since I go go straight or curly. Thanks ☺️

I love it.. that’s mainly what i want is just looser curls and if I want straight hair its not going to sweat a lot back to poof stage.. great video

I always say try it. It wears off in a few months if you find you don’t like it

This is beautiful! How would you care for and maintain it in between treatments? I usually use natural protein treatments like henna or mayonnaise and avocado on a regular basis. Would that be safe to use on keratin treated hair?

Hi. Henna no. The others yes.

The women has skills! Most times I get the pleasure of sitting in someone's chair who always knows about curly hair but in actuality, they don't. So I have started cutting my own hair and almost nerve do anything else because 400 is too much to spend on hair you don't enjoy

Thank you so much for creating this video. My daughter has very thick and curly hair with a lot of frizz. We have tried so many things, but I didn't want her putting chemicals in her hair. I've asked our hair person and she really has tried all kinds of creams and frizz removing oils. But nothing has worked. I'm going to try everything you showed. Thank you
