If you enjoy this show, another sci-fi thriller I recommend is Counterpart. The reveal happens quicker in that pilot than in this one. It’s very well written and acted, and stars J. K. Simmons, who is always amazing, and gives an incredible performance. It lasted for 2 10-episode seasons, and several episodes I would put up against some of the best in TV. Go in blind as you did here, do not do any research or watch any trailers (the trailer gives away the reveal).

Oh, but you would have to go to work. You'd be stuck with the commute both ways. As soon as you arrived, you'd have to turn around and drive home, exhausted from a day's work.

It's funny, I feel like everyone who watches this first episode goes "oh okay that's interesting" when the Helly tape explains what happened, but no one still fully understands what it means until later. I mean, you're clearly smart and you're still asking "but how much does he remember?" a few scenes after it's shown that he has no idea who Helly is. Really shows what a complicated idea this show is.
