I’m 18 months in Cymbalta and Remeron withdrawal. Months and months of akathisia among many many other symptoms. It’s now starting to lift. My life is definitely on hold. I feel your pain. Remember, it takes a long time for the brain to heal. But it will heal. Hugs.

I'm 10 months into benzo withdrawal. It's hell. I've been taken meds since 21. I'm 30 now. So many med changes and changing doses and more. I've learnt so much from my research online about everything that is going on with me. I have so much regret for ever taking a pill. I have so much hatred and anger to the entire healthcare system. I'm still on 20 mg of citalopram which I can't even taper cause my CNS is so messed up and hypersensitive. I can't work and I can't really do much. This is torture. I just pray as much as I can everyday and hope and have faith that one day, my life will be okay. I will be okay. Hang in there bro. We can't let the evil and greedy pharmaceutical and healthcare industry win this battle against us. And, I under completely when you mentioned suggestions. Unsolicited advice during this is rage inducing lol. Nobody understands and they try and tell you so much nonsense and things you've already tried.

It isn't just you. My life has been ruined by this shit too. I don't care if it works. They can shove it. I had akathisia for 5 1/2 months. I could not stop moving. I paced 20 hours a day. I know you are trying as hard as you can. You don't need to justify yourself. Like you said, Just keep fighting!

Bro....I feel your pain so much as I am a recent victim of a Dr putting me on the wrong medication. I think about ending it everyday but still have a glimmer of hope that life may be possible. Thing is I am also full on alcoholic and been on prescribed opiods for years. So I am starting to think I first got to go to a rahab but if they do not give me a benzo for sleep I would never survive. I must have a benzo every night for any chance at sleep. Its such a horrific cycle. I can barely take care of myself. At least you are trying your best to recover with proper nutrition & supplementation and have a positive outlook. It keeps me going. Stay strong brother. I pray for you 🙏

You just came up as I opened up my I pad. I am fighting in prayer for my brother who is coming off meds. I am in the Uk and my brother is in a rehab place. Jesus Christ is our only Hope. I have had family and friends who have had mental illness and drugs are a temporary and sometimes a dangerous so called solution. Father I ask you on behalf of my brother and everyone who is struggling with these issues to set them totally free. Please give them a revelation of what Jesus did on that ugly cross to set them free. Nothing is impossible to those who believe and those who receive this truth. I ask in the Mighty name of Jesus AMEN.🙏🙏🙏👏👏

Hey there, Just found your channel. I just want to say I am wishing you the best. I can rleate to what you are going through, your love for music and trying to fight back and find the answers. Wanted to say be careful with B Vitamins, I overdosed on accident because a doctor told me to take it. It caused twitching spasms and nureoptahy. Once I stopped them and fixed my diet it took 3 weeks to kick back in and nromalize.

I agree. While in w/d B vitamins revved me right up. It's hard enough to cope, adding that just is way too much. You didn't ask for advice and I'm giving it anyways because this could be the difference between life and death.

I hear you and get you! And I also fight right now with withdrawals and I am very thankful, that you are posting 🙏. I have so much respect for you and all you have went through and still fighting!. Akathisia is the worst! Mine has been improving, when I only eat food with low histamine and no supplements because my body can't tolerate anything while tapering. It is so horrible. I hope you get well very soon. Send you love ♥️.

It definitely gets better. I’ve been off for a couple years. My first year is now a blur. I don’t remember it, I know the withdrawals were really bad. I decided to quit cold turkey one morning. I got tired of feeling completely numb and never sleeping or sleeping too much, and gaining so much weight and eventually turning to alcoholism. Once I got off the meds and alcohol i lost all my friends. I was went through the longest transition of my life. I was just in survival mode. But so fucking lonely. The man of my child, and who was supposed to be my partner of 10 years wanted nothing to do with me and was never home. Either disgusted or embarrassed. I guess what I’m trying to say during this long written novel lol, is that you’ll find the light of the longest tunnel. But you got this and will continue to get through this. This phase of change is hard. But there will be beauty. Stay strong ❤

Appreciate this comment and your honesty. So sorry to hear about your struggles. This on and off battle that’s been going on for thirteen years has had more suffering than i ever thought was possible. Has made me a better person though, and I know I’ll continue to grow from it. Being as low as I am on Effexor is huge for me. I know one day I’ll come out of this for good. One day at a time. Appreciate you 🙏❤️

I’m pacing 20hrs/day 47 mths off the benzos. Most of my worst symptoms did not erupt until I was 4-12mths out. My inner exploded around a few months out. The pacing didn’t start until 14mths. Watch treating pain. Sadly, the tardive dystonia is as challenging as the pacing. I had rapid weight loss and abdominal tearing after a few quick taper attempts. I had a tinnitus explosion upon my jump. It wasn’t even tinnitus, it was a freight train on rails. I thought that I was going to have to end it. I thought that no one could live with a freight train in their head. That turned out to be the least of my worries. The tinnitus distracted me from the akathisia and dystonia erupting. Try to be grateful if you don’t have pain. Mine has almost felt “progressive” the longer it has gone on but I think that’s just my body breaking down from the physicality. Cognitively I’m much better, but I still wake up feeling beaten within inches of my life and then forced to walk on broken feet. I wake up feeling freshly shot in the back and forced to walk. The brutality is unimaginable. I will note, I have seen it go away after 4-5 years in a lot of people. I also know people 15, even 27 years out suffering. My experience is akathisia is like tinnitus, the more it comes back, the harder it is to make it go away. I have dozens of friends 5-7 years out still suffering. I am sorry this happened to you. It’s criminal. You can find me at the Akathisia Alliance. Hopefully you’ve already met Jill Nickens and Russell Baker. Hugs.

Try niacin ( nicotinic acid ) flush kind. I remember recovering from alcoholsim, i had a heady nervousness that felt like a low grade electrical buzz in my forehead for hours on random days, and noticed it completely dissapeared after i had taken niacin and after i had the flush. i have no idea what it was, the mechanism, but i know Niacin is a methyl stealer, could be usefull if overmethylated, which can cause nervousness and feel edgy. I guess the energy needed for that sensation i had was depleted by niacin in some way .

It’s a feeling of insane inner restlessness. A constant urge to move the body. A constant urge to keep the body moving or apply pressure to different parts of the body to find some sort of relief. It can get incredibly severe where moving and applying that pressure lasts for minutes to hours. I’ve had it since 2019 when I switched from Zoloft to Lexapro. It’s come and gone over the years with different levels of severity but even when I was doing a lot better from 2020-2023 i still had it. It can be a side effect of psychiatric medications like antipsychotics and antidepressants. I did have some relief from all of my issues for a couple years but the akathisia was always there. Now that I’m trying to get off of antidepressants again it’s incredibly severe.

If u take your medications as prescribed, and the dose is not affecting your daily life, why in the world would you want to stop and go thru withdrawal. I have bn addict for years. Now I am prescribed medication to help combat my addictive personality and I’m fine. Work , married have to beautiful sons . No way I’m goin thru that crap off withdrawals again. I hope n pray I dnt. Instead off stopping cold turkey, how about taking the smallest amount possible to maintain the body’s need for the drug and go on in life. If the meds are not affecting your behavior and health

Watch my first three videos and you’ll understand everything. Medications ruined my body and brain, they’ve always caused more harm for me. They never worked, and I became trapped on them and was gaslit by doctors telling me it was a mental illness when the issues I was having were because of the medication. Akathisia, severe anxiety, weight gain, agitation, delusions, OCD…the list goes on. Nothing I ever had before meds. I didn’t stop cold turkey. I’m still tapering Effexor.
