i am university student, my major is physical geography and meteorology. i am from south korea. really, Us plain region (TX,OK,KS,MO,NE,IL,IN) weather is the most ever changing place in the world. i use weather app, and always monitoring world weather, and there's no place where temp change as rapidly as the plain of U.S the annual range is smaller than Asia continent(kazak,mongolia,north china,north korea... ) but daily range is larger. the US plain is good place to study weather. because there are lot of heat wave,cold wave,strong wind,tornado,t-storms. i will go to university of oklahoma in 2023. i really want to enjoy a variety weather...:) i love watching lightning. its fun when lot of lightning and t-storms. have a nice day!! thank you for upload!!

@@jasonsellon4270 I watched a video on your channel. There were so many interesting videos. I think you have a talent for meteorology. I have enjoyed weather observation since I was 9 years old, but I still don't know much. I will go to graduate school to become a researcher on global warming and climatology. Global warming is very serious. In South Korea, it's hard to see a hail like a baseball and tornado. instead of, I will see and feel typhoon(hurricane) this summer. I like the cold weather, so I planned travel yakutsk in February, but I can't go outside because of coronavirus. Be careful covid19 and healthy. I should go fortran,matlab programming now. I am happy to your comment. have a nice day jason! god bless you.

I just came upon this video. We were staying near Eagle Creek park when this storm happened. We watched in awe but it didn’t get it as severe as you guys had it. We heard tornado sirens. We found out later that my brother and sister in-law, who live in Plainfield, had an EF-1 tornado go over their house and uprooted a bunch of their trees and tossed their gazebo and duck coop..luckily they were safe. That’s probably what your mom saw. Nature is scary and amazing. Thanks for filming and sharing this.
@kilaueaproductions42104 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I'm in northern Indianapolis and that's where most of the hail was. It had been a separate storm cell with big hail, but as it hit, it merged with the other storm cells into a squall line. The entire line was severe though. Whatever my mom saw was in the other direction. That's crazy though!

Excellent videos. This is so me. Love the room to room play by play. What a great storm. I'm going to try to send this to my daughter in S Korea. They very rarely even have thunder there. It will be a nice reminder of home. 😆

I’m from Vegas, have lived in Florida, Utah, BC Canada, traveled all over the United States and now live in Indiana. Never have I seen it seen weather like I do here. Indiana has some mad mad thunderstorms. As long as I never have to experience a tornado, all is well.

I used to live in southern Indiana, in Evansville and we would hardly get storms like this. Once I moved 50 miles northwest of Evansville to Mt. Carmel, Illinois, they happen all the time

I have a question : why there isn't any CG lightning ? Only rumbling thunder all along and intra-cloud constant lightning. What does explain this phenomena ?
@kilaueaproductions42102 жыл бұрын
I'm not really sure. I was kind of wondering that as well. I have heard that intense thunderstorms tend to have a lot of cloud to cloud lightning, but not a lack of CGs with that. It could've had to do with the updraft base being fairly high. There was about a 25 degree temperature/dew point spread. The core was pretty cold and saturated though, but maybe the lightning wasn't originating from there.
@patcola73352 жыл бұрын
God explains this phenomenon.

Decent bad storm. Comment three of three. I would assume that any native Iowan would go yeah not bad , seen worse. Myself growing up in Tulsa, we couldn’t afford to run the AC, so we have the windows open and have a close them. severe storms were LOUD and windy. It would blow everything in a 10 x 10 room all to pieces if you didn’t get the window shut quick. That was a bigger bugaboo, even than the lightning! but at least we could reopen them in about 15 to 20 minutes As always take your tornado precautions and your lightning precautions seriously always
