Notice the turquoise color of the clouds in the distance that are approaching? Those mean very heavy rain and very high winds. Here in the Los Angeles Basin, this would be an El Nino storm, mainly in February.

That greenish blue area is where the very heavy rain, hail, high winds, the intense thunder and lightning and possible tornadoes are. These kind of storms also cause severe flooding and flash floods.

I watched this while fairly stoned and it's hard to describe the eerie, oppressive mood of this storm and your excellent camera work and fantastic sound make it all the better. This storm is dark and scary and powerful and doesn't care if you're in the way.

That storm lasted forever! They tend to move a bit faster in Georgia it seems. Also, it's nuts to see the direction of wind and rain change as the storm progresses. About 3 years ago a tornado passed within 1/4 mile of us and did some damage in its path, including taking a roof off of Wal-Mart, but as it passed (was rain wrapped so didn't see it ) it sounded like a rumble of thunder that lasted a long time and after it passed by, the wind abruptly changed direction. It was wild

It just means the hail in the cloud is creating that color by reflection from the sun, not specific to any size. Also is not really an indication of a tornado. It would be a coincidence if it happened to be a tornadic storm.

Exactly where is this? All too often, where I live, storms seem to be scattered all too often whenever they are in the forcast. That also means that those who do get them when they are hit and miss, they are over almost as soon as they begin, last on average maybe 2 to 5 minutes, then that's it.
