Yeah, the weather was pretty bad on July! I loved it though, but im glad there were no tornados of any kind, the earth is so messed up now so if a tornado ever formed in Las Vegas, I wouldn’t be that surprised.

I have a question. I've never really understood why severe thunderstorms are an issue bad enough to need EAS alerts for?? Do severe thunderstorms exhibit so many lightning strikes that it poses a threat to people getting shocked or something?? I live in an area where the weather is freakishly mild, so we never really have true weather-based issues except for maybe minor flash floods that are incredibly manageable and the very rare flash freeze/large snowfall.

Yes lightning and Flooding in some areas where drainage is too slow to keep up. Low visibility due to rain can cause car accidents along with flooding. Heavy rain could effect plumbing in some areas too. Loss of power in areas. Debris if winds pick up bad enough during storm. It can get pretty messy with a storm bad enough.

For Las Vegas, a warning for thunderstorms means there is going to be severe flash flooding. And because Vegas sits in a basin all of the water pools into what is basically the strip. So with a warning for thunderstorms residents of the city know to basically stay indoors until it’s over. Which ironically enough just happened two days before this video was made. Also if you want to see how bad the flooding gets lookup ‘Linq parking garage flood’

The main differences between regular thunderstorm and a severe thunderstorm are the addition of significant hail and damaging winds. In a severe thunderstorm, the potential for property damage, tree damage, downed power lines and power outages is greatly increased. Each of these things can result to much larger life disruption than just a regular thunderstorm.
