I was a soils inspector for twenty years. Specialized in water problems. You never cease to amaze me. just watched your three pond fixes not exacctly the way I'd have done them but, your solutions seem like they will work. haven't seen the second half of the pond with the pipe you dug out so nicely. Curios to see where the problem is. Keep up the great videos. I enjoy watching someoe else taking on the challenges having been first the inspector and them twenty five years as a general ground work contractor here in CA.

...looks to me like you know exactly what you're doing. One thing I've noticed is 95% of the people who criticize EVERYTHING on YT, usually when you click on their profile, their page says "This page contains no content." If anyone is that well endowed to have mastered EVERY job on the planet so much so that they can tell you what you're doing wrong, well then show us how it's done. And I'm NOT speaking to retirees who no longer operate/work and can therefore no longer get footage..but to the ones who can get footage but would rather criticize. Lead by example lol. Great job as always CG!! Hell I'm in demolition, know nothing about pond damming or whatnot OTHER THAN what I learn from watching this channel...so keep the good content coming! Few layers of geo grid in all those fills help ya' sleep at night. That shale vein you plugged is still there and capillary action is a factor. Next is a box culvert. 1000-1500 yards went down stream somwhere. Fish and wildlife would run out of ink writing. And yes, I have built alot of dams. I hope everything works out. Stuff like this is hard on small outfit. Good luck

I've always been told to keep the trees off of the dam, as the roots actually weaken the structure of the dam. I've got a smaller pond on the property and the dam on it is covered in trees. I was planning on bringing in a track loader and cutting that old dam out, would be a good time to let the pond dry and clean it out I would think.
