I remember it well too. It used to roll down hills so drivers had to rev it from neutral. A lot of the DLAS at TH had over-revving issues.

i've driven a Thomas pusher school bus with the Mercedes engine that did the same thing. Allison MD3000 gearbox, what would happen is it would hit the governor i.e engine full thrash yet barely moving anywhere. I added some fluid and recalibrated the computer which helped somewhat, but it needs a new transmission computer

The driver was taking the piss, I’ve seen drivers on 20(back when it was arriva) woosh through Woodford and Loughton without much stress
