Can't wait to get my boxset! But mainly for The Big Boss Part 2, a craptacular film produced by my grandpa.

Hey Dragon Thanks for the informative review you gave us on the ultimate documentary about the legacy of the Bruceploitation genre (with some references to Shaw Brothers thrown in). I just saw it right after I have the box set delivered and for what I have seen so far it’s really up there with the lengthy The Final Game of Death documentary (speaking of Bruce anyways), Hearts of Darkness documentary about the making of Apocalypse Now, and Sad Hill Unearthed (documentary film about the reconstruction of Sad Hill Cemetery and other locations where Sergio Leone’s spaghetti western epic The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly were shot). Die-hard fans of Kung-fu/martial arts films should check that documentary out especially for those who are not into Bruceploitation genre.

Thanks Carman, I 100% agree! nice to see it compared to Hearts of Darkness too! that's one of my all time favourite filmmaking docs. And I'd also put it right up alongside the work Arrow put together for their Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest set, Severin's box makes a wonderful companion piece overall. I'd also highly recommend checking out David Gregory's Lost Soul documentary that I mentioned at the start of the video. I'm not remotely a fan of that appalling Island of Dr Moreau film that was ultimately prouduced, but Gregory's film about the original Director Richard Stanley's experience on the film, him being fired from the production and then amazingly managing to sneak his way back onto set dressed up in full animal makeup is a wild ride. It's definitely a case of the making of the film being much, much more interesting and entertaining than the actual completed movie itself!

I really loved the documentary and landed up ordering the Game of clones box after. You are right mate, anyone with a love of Hong Kong cinema should check out the film.

I purchased the digital of the doc and is really fun and enjoyable. I pre-order the boxset and looking forward to it as I grew up with these films in the 70s and 80s.

Can’t wait to dig in! It’s on its way. Do you think another type of doc will be produced for the future vols?
@TheFanaticalDragon5 ай бұрын
Definitely, I don’t think we’ll see another single feature length documentary as long as Enter The Clones but there will absolutely be a stack of mini docs ( like the extra content on the enter the clones disc) for future volumes.

Hi dragon just to let you know the late Roy Horan didn’t feature in drunken master only snake in the eagles shadow and some other season films
@TheFanaticalDragon5 ай бұрын
You’re quite right, total brain fart on my part, I’ve watched DM1 and Snake in the eagles shadow so many times over the years that they’ve both kinda fused into one movie for me. Thanks for keeping me right.

Except for the extra spending, I didn’t need that, but I guess that’s what people like us do wouldn’t it? Take care?

Bruce Li was the better kicker and actor in my opinion
@TheFanaticalDragon5 ай бұрын
that's cool, definitely agree Bruce Li was the better actor, Bruce Le wore the Yellow jumpsuit better though ;)
@fletchkeilman22055 ай бұрын
Le had an insane physique, no doubt, and was incredibly fast. However.....how do you train like that and NOT develop lats? I suppose it may be simply because of Le's background in specific styles (ie Hung Gar, etc..). Bruce Le did star in some bangers. James Nam's Bruce and Shaolin Kung Fu Films, including Return of Fist of Fury, are absolute classics. I guess I just prefer Li overall, even though I would never NOT watch a Bruce Le film.
