Very professional, a real tonic to help with withdrawal symptoms during COVID - 19 lockdown; just a pity no shots of Arley, where I now work. Thanks a lot. Stuart, SVR Guard (retired)

Thoroughly enjoyed, thanks John, with a balanced variety of loco movement, on-board sequences and the Severn in flood. Your shots from Victoria Bridge really illustrate the huge volume of water moving through the valley. It's gratifying to know there is no railway damage. I hope there was adequate opportunity to enjoy the family aspects of the outing as well as sharing this with the rest of us! Kind regards, Bob.

John, glad to see the well-deserved level of viewer popularity which I see continues apace. You rightly emphasize the impact on the communities... it is most frustrating that we can not be of practical help despite caring deeply for the plight of all those affected. Regards, Bob.

What a beautiful engine. Also those excellent shots of the exhaust shadows on the meadows around 2:40.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing. I'm proud to be a long-time member and supporter, but haven't been there for a ride for nearly 13 years.

I really enjoyed that John, worrying to see the Severn so high, but lovely to have a run during the off period, where there are few passengers on the platforms, and the lack of foliage allowing a clear view through to the beautiful countryside....Regards...Bob

"Smoky tendrils in the sky, framing pastures gliding by ..." Lovely video, wish we had smell-o-vision to get that magical mix of steam, smoke oil and hot metal I remember from childhood waiting at the level crossing on my way to school and on the train to Gloucester to see aunt and uncle. Thanks for uploading.

Very enjoyable John. I was wondering how the railway had fared with the Severn all over the place!

*Those Victorian engineers certainly were aware of flooding in this area, and built the track sufficiently high to prevent being affected by catastrophic conditions that these are currently (End February 2020) My sympathies are with all those that have suffered and had their homes flooded.*

What is that installation the train passed at 2:56. I saw it when I visited and wondered then.

Just as a further note. The blue bridge carries a feed to the treatment works from Chelmarsh reservoir which is up on the right heading to Kidderminster

Great to see that the SVR survived the ravages of Storm Dennis with little or no ill effects!

Gained a love of steam trains travelling from Brisbane, Queensland in Australia to Yandina where my greatgrand parents lived. We used to stay with them for a month year end holidays and they emigrated from the Wye Valley

@@GreatBritishRailways1 Glad you have had rain in those parts.. But was it dry before the rain, I mean extraordinarily so?

Thankfully John the railway hasn't yet been affected by the dreadful weather unlike a few years ago. I don't think I've ever seen the river so high at Victoria Bridge

Hi Bernard, The video was secondary to taking my two grand daughters on the train. I guess I was giving them some attention at Arley. ☺️ Regards, John

Nancy Hobson part of the line was closed off due to repairs on a viaduct but I still managed to get some good footage, Shame really because that part of the line went past a safari park

Sure is fun to see live steam in action, and coal burners to boot! We had a visit from the Union Pacific #4014 last fall, their newly restored 4-8-8-4 steam engine. What a treat! 132 ft long, 620+ tons. (Lots of 4014 videos on KZbin.) 4014 converted to oil burner during restoration.
