Severn Valley Railway - Autumn Steam Gala - 2015

A big engine turnout would be the theme for the Severn Valley's four day autumn steam gala & the star of the show, was no other than the newly restored Scot Class, 46100 Royal Scot. Also featured on the undercard was 70000 Britannia & 46521, which both return to there former stamping ground. Taw Valley also makes it's first gala appearance, after retuning from a very long overhaul earlier this year. As usual the homefleet make an appearance, though only two of those engine's feature in this video, as the main focus is the bigger engines.
The video is captured over three days. The weather was mixed throughout the gala, with Saturday being the best day, with plenty of sunshine & very little breeze, which were ideal filming conditions. Trains were very busy throughout the three days & all trains ran to time pretty well, except Thursday afternoon.
Despite the lack of local trains featuring in the timetable, the gala was a major success & very enjoyable, with all engines performing well. I hope you enjoy watching the video, as much as I did filming from the lineside.

terrific shot of Britannia at 22:00, really storming along. Nice whistle too. In fact it seemed to put up some very lively performances. And departing Highley at 25:00, that shows what a stiff little climb that is.
