Friday 20th September 2024
Bridgnorth is home to the SVR’s main Motive Power Depot (MPD), and today we spend a few hours there with a fabulous selection of steam locomotives.
On the ‘main’ trains were have:
LMS Jubilee, 45596 ‘Bahamas’
LMS Black Five, 44932
GWR Saint, 2999 ‘Lady of Legend’
LMS Stanier Mogul, 13268
GWR Hall, 4930 ‘Hagley Hall’
On the ‘local’ service:

In the depot but not running/not operational:
LMS/L&Y Saddle Tank 11446
LMS Ivatt 4MT, 43106 (The Flying Pig)

Thank you very much! It was a little easier to make than yesterday’s film, due to being in just one location. But very interesting to see the locomotives running in and out of the depot! I’m happy that you’re enjoying the SVR gala so far! 👍👍👍

Those because 44932 Stanier Black Five 4-6-0 has got hauling general surprisingly classic six driving wheels are similar than BR Standard 5MT

Hi ST, it was good to meet you today at the bridge hideaway. On my walk down to Eardington station I went off the beaten track & managed to find a great spot just at the end of the village. A location with both a bridge & a level crossing with various great vantage points. It was at just at the top of the incline so able to get some great shots of trains heading from Kiddi working hard to get up the hill. If you are there tomorrow it might be worth paying a visit. A fantastic video👍

Hi ST. I was on the 7715 shuttle shown at 8.50. I thought I saw you filming at Bridgnorth as we pulled out. It's a bit difficult to identify someone from a tiny thumbnail however. My friend and I had a brilliant day, and your film is great as usual. Hope you enjoyed it as well. Many thanks.

Ah! Shame I missed you! I’d just spent a quiet hour at the top end of the path that ends at the road bridge (as you can tell from the order of the video!) - so I guess I was very hidden away at the time you were actually on the platform. A quieter day for me, I didn’t travel today - was pretty shattered after chasing here there and everywhere for yesterday’s video - just a quiet drive up to Bridgnorth and chilling out with trains! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the day! 👍👍👍

Lady of Legend is a wonderful looking beast - just perfect proportions, and lovely livery. Definitely worth a tattoo!!
