If you use Shimenawa 4pc to max out his damage, then range burst before skill is almost always the best rotation. Even with my Childe at C6 I can usually range burst, skill, and burst again to reset my CD pretty consistently.

One of the best things of Tortellini is his name which basically works with any pasta name that starts with T. Other than that I really like using Tagliatelle with the Raiden Shogun, Fischl or Beidou. I actually never used him with Xiangling because I don't have a set built for the cooking girl. I also love the flashy effects on Taglierinis riptide effects and his usage of twin swords and a spear made out of water. Aside from Tortiglionis combat provess he also has a really interesting personality. So put your Treccioni in your teapot and talk to him and enjoy his personal questline which shows his actual soft side. All said and done, Tufoli is one of my favourite characters in the game

One tip that helps me optimize him is that he sends out a burst of hydro when you first activate his skill. You can use this a lot more quickly than charging a shot to apply hydro for Kazuha/Sucrose to swirl, and if you swap out the instant after you do it, his cooldown is only 6 seconds. If you don’t have him at C2 or with good ER, this can be a way to start your rotation with him without wasting your burst. Just activate melee-sub DPS activates off-field skill-swirl-back to Childe to start DPS cycle.

@@daylark9146 bow shot takes longer, and can only hit one target. The shockwave bursts in all directions around Childe, so if you use it in the middle of a group, all of them get wet, and if it crits they all get riptide inflicted.

@@daylark9146 I think, with Childe, depends on the weapon you're using... if you have Skyward Harp, ofcourse you can because of its effect 😂if not... You're gonna waste some time trying... The battlepass bow has the same Vacuum skill as Skyward spine has as well, it helps with grouping enemies before a burst or keeping them grouped after a kazuha plunge, so that could assist if you've got money for it...

@@bonbons1868 I've been using 4-piece Heart of Depth. That artifact set was pretty much made for him. A bonus is that ending his elemental skill by pressing the skill button actually counts as "activating" his elemental skill and triggers the 4-piece bonus again. Some people are using Shimenawa's Reminiscence on him, but when they do that, they have to end his elemental skill by switching characters, or else it will consume another 15 energy from pressing the elemental skill button.

when you get used playing childe, you will just estimate his elemental skill cooldown by feelings. also, i recommend having another dps on a team with childe. i personally love ayaka as childe's another dps partner since ayaka's burst is perfectly fit for tartaglia's elemental skill, and if the combo is done, you can switch back to ayaka to gain her ult.

Maybe I'm a madman here, but Childe + Xiangling + Raiden + Bennett is not bad. Raiden solves energy problem of the team, deals a fair chunk of DPS due to Resolve gained from the team, and enables some crippling Overload damage for EM build Xiangling.

@j Tbh that heavily depends on your available weapons, artifacts and teams. Got a Rust/Thundering Pulse/Viridescent Hunt/Hamayumi? Go Main DPS. Only got Windblume Ode/Stringless? Go Burst DPS. For Main DPS, you'll want a team like Xiangling/Bennett/Succrose or Beidou/Fischl/Bennett in which you want to build Xiangling or build Beidou/Fischl respectively since they'll also do a huge chunk of the damage. If you don't want to build so many characters, Burst DPS might be better for you. As for artifacts, 4Heart of Depth is generally considered to he his best set; 2Gladiator/2HeartofDepth can be stronger though if you have better substats on it, especially if you use Rust or Thundering Pulse. For BurstDPS, you'll preferably want 2Noblesse/2HeartofDepth, but 2Gladiator/2HeartofDepth can work as well. :)

notes for me, since I just got him ^^ -melee = sword, normal attack dmg. four piece Heart of Depths set/four piece Shimenawa's Reminiscence and Rust/Thundering Pulse recommended for me since I suck at aiming and mostly will use his melee version instead of his bow version -need a high crit rate since a crit using his melee (or ranged charged shot for the matter) causes riptide marks -riptide marks caused by bow scales off normal attack dmg; riptide marks caused by melee scales off elemental skill dmg from his talents -riptide triggered by BURST/Q skill is based off elemental burst dmg so in this case Stringless or Polar Star boost his Q skill-burst damage. four piece Heart of Depths set/four piece Shimenawa's Reminiscence would not help q skill/burst. -differences between bursts: bow burst applies riptides and hydro dmg, then if you swap to melee you can trigger riptide dmg right away instead of having to swap to melee and apply riptide. melee burst only triggers the aoe hydro explosion on enemies already having the riptide mark then removes riptide so need to reapply if enemy still alive. so it's best to use melee burst if many enemies have the riptide mark -not much time on field ^^ in summary for meee: -crit rate is important -continue with Rust, farm for four piece Heart of Depths set (recommended)/four piece Shimenawa's Reminiscence -melee all the way, only burst when many enemies got riptide marks -get some elemental mastery/hydro dmg the artifacts too -melee stance maybe 10-15 seconds then switch stance or swap characters to prevent long af cooldowns for him

Ik this is a little late, but just a tip, if you’re using the 4 piece heart of depths set, you can use the arrows that spawn around him from the artifact’s buff as a timer for when you should cancel his melee form. It will net you a pretty consistent CD if you’re struggling with that.

For fishies out there, the battlepass bow is a fun weapon to use with him since it has a high crit rate stat and has a built in crowd control to group nearby enemies. Remember. His damage increases in exponential increments based on how many enemies are nearby. Which is absolutely insane.

What do you mean they love the word riptide? That's the name of the status effect mark. There's different versions of riptide; slash, flash, bust and blast. If you give all these different variations a completely different name it becomes way more annoying and counterintuitive to follow.

I main Childe since his last rerun and god he has one of the funniest gameplays in the game (maybe the funniest fr), but at the other hand he's a very complicated character, there's so much you need to learn to use the best of him (and btw I think this makes a lot of sense with his character in game since he's always fighting to improve himself, you need to learn abilities to use him). here some notes I took since I started maining him: 1- after some time his cooldown don't even bother you anymore, his E is probably the most unique of the game and you can use it for a long time, specially in the open world, when his cooldown starts, the enemies are already gone 2- you must have a good team rotation, use all your characters, prepare the battlefield for him for when his cooldown end 3- try having another dps or sub dps in your team with him, to keep doing high damage when you rotate your team 4- when you start his E, he splits hydro all over the place, it's the higher damage you can do with him 5- trust me, use. pyro. supports. vaporize is such an overpowered reaction, use the inicial hydro attack of his skill like I said before with vaporize, and just laugh seeing enemies suffer 6- use his bow burst to start fights and his melee burst do end them with you know how to rotate your team well and has a great dps, there's no need for C1. And watch out, once you're a Childe main you may become as bloodthirsty as him (personal experience, just today I literally cleaned old mondsdat for fun)
